Went on a trip to Whala! Tenerife from the 8th-13th of march. Excellent hotel, clean, tidy, pool area has loads of sunbeds. Staff friendly. Around a 5 minute walk to the centre of las americas, a good walk though with plenty bars restaurants around the area also. Snack/ pool bar has a good choice also and very reasonably priced. Only issue would be that there is no air con in the room, rooms have a ceiling fan though. All in all an excellent value for money hotel.

We booked a 2 bedroom apartment with twin beds. It was big with a large porch. The pool is nice as well and the price was great for 4 adults.

The boiler is small for a 2 bedroom apartment so you don’t have warm water for more than 10 minutes, you need to wait around 15 min per shower for that water to warm up.

Perfect location for us, quiet yet Los Cristianos /Las Americas a short walk to either. Bus stops close by to venture around the island, efficient and super good value. Reception Team friendly and helpful no matter what time of day/evening. The pool and area surrounding is very well maintained. Pool bar happy and quick service, typical pooside food offerings, plentiful hot and tasty. The music was upbeat but not obtrusive. Not sure if pool & bar are open until later when busy season starts ,but as we were ready to go out for dinner etc it didn't really affect us. Our one bedroom apartment was spacious and fabulously clean, including wardrobe and drawers ( odd sign of wear and tear ). Beds were so comfortable with extra pillows /fleecy blankets in wardrobe if required. Bedlinen (duvet) soft and clean . Microwave, kettle toaster and hob were sufficient for us , as were all necessary pots, pans and utensils. Fridge nicely chilly and again spotless ! We had a super lady called Norinda cleaning room daily ,bedlinen changed midweek and towels(using eco system) if you like. She was so smiley ,polite and very thorough. This was a super week away, made even better by the extra kind ,efficient and happy team at Whala Tenerife.

We stayed at this hotel as Jet2 advertised it as "basic friendly, small self catering base' what they failed to mention were the following: On an extremely busy road, traffic till about 2am which started again at 7am. Near a hospital so heard sirens all night. Doors don't fit so all road noise is heard. Be prepared to be kept awake every night by people banging on doors in the early hours, door bell being rung Limited hot water so very quick shower or one nice shower and one cold shower. Have to purchase food and drink at hotel if by the pool. Even though you are self catering. Plus side - nice staff, towels changed every day but this could be that they are so thin they need to, beds changed twice which was good and bins always emptied. The majority of people staying here were groups of over 3 women/blokes whose idea of a good time is coming in in the early hours and waking everyone else....whilst I appreciate everyone is different and likes to do their own thing, if we knew this was more like an 18-30 place we would never have stayed. Not worth the money and no we won't be back.
