Amourex Hotel

its an awesome hotel, a bit difficult to find at first (behind the main street) but it pays offf with a deliciously large room with separate toilet and shower room. not mentioning remote lighting and in-room PC and large TV. aside form that its also neatly near major subway station and just a step from airport bus stop, making airport transfer a breeze.

This hotel is disgusting!! I went there with 4 of my other classmates and stayed four terrible nights there. We all thought it is some sort of "love hostel". ... I have not lived in one hotel this dirty and gross in my entire life. Firstly, the reception is extremely unhelpful. They are impolite, never smile, and never willing to answer any of your questions. Secondly, they have one male cleaner responsible for daily room cleaning. My friend forgot to lock her bra and underwear in the briefcase. When we come back, she found her bra folded and placed at the corner of the bed....he is not supposed to touch our personal items ok?! Thirdly, the room is extremely dirty. When you first walk in to the room, you will be able to smell something...On your first night, you will inhale a lot of dust from the airconditioning that is probably never cleaned. Give you one more example, they do not change the soap in the bathtub. YES !! you will see an old piece of soap from previous customer(S) in the bathroom. We all think they are not going to throw it away until it's all used up...

it's my first time traveling alone and it's my first time to Seoul. I chose this hotel was mainly because of its competitive price and good location; it was cost around HKD700 per night and only took few mins to get to the metro on foot. The receptionist was quite friendly and helpful although they couldn't speak good english. The room was quite big and there's a computer with internet access which was free of charge (since it's free, i shouldn't complain about the speed...) The only thing i didn't feel satisfactory was the cleanliness, next time if i visit again, i will absolutely bring my own towels and slippers.... Overall it's a good hotel for those people who got limited budget.

Having lived in Seoul for 3 years, a number of years ago, I decided to return with my partner for a vacation. We chose this hotel due to it's central location - close to Dongdaemun and Numdaemun, palaces, etc. was very easy to find - airport bus 6101 stops within a minutes walk. The room was clean and the bath and shower were great - endless hot water. Staff spoke good English and were friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend this hotel.

I stayed here with my parents when they visited me while I was living in Korea. Forgetting to warn my mom about not booking something that "seems" like a great price, she booked this place for 3 nights. It's in the perfect location - in an alley very close to Wangsimni subway, and right on the route of the airport shuttle. It's a bit sketch just because it is a love motel, but not awful. The bed I slept in was next to where the the box of "toys" sat. Room was a little smokey. The TV was gigantic - but too big for the size of the room. Also came with a desktop computer that had free internet access. Front desk was EXTREMELY helpful and friendly and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was a comfortable one. Even though they spoke very little English, they tried extremely hard to help us however they could and were very attentive to our needs.

My friends is in the Hotel right now. They just found out the spare money left inside the luggage got stolen. This is really a bad experience while people are on the trip. Luckily those are their spare money for emergency use, otherwise they wont be continue their vacation in Seoul. People who already booked this hotel please take an extra caution on your belonging not leaving it in the hotel. Sincerely, Steve

Amourex Tourist Hotel is located near the 2 subway stations (line 2 and 5) called Wangsimnis. Limousine Bus depart from seondong-gu stop (about 100meter) to Incheon Int'l airport, journey takes up to 90 minutes. Rooms are very comfortable and are decorated very well, offering high standard. Facilities includes: big PDP television, high-speed Internet access including personal compluter, whirl-pool bath and a shower. There are three room categories: Standard (designed for business persons), Suite (for couples or families) and Deluxe Room.

Prior to booking this hotel, there were only 2 reviews in TripAdvisor. The 2 reviews looked ok for us since we are not really fussy in details as long as there is a clean place for us to stay and with good convenience. Oh horror when I decided to look back to TripAdvisor the day before arriving at this hotel. Out came 2 bad reviews! =( Arriving at Wangsimni metro, exit station at Exit 2, walk past the fire station and pass Café Bene and you will find a small backlane of low rise clusters of houses. Walk up and you will instantly find this hotel. 3-5m away from Café Bene, there is the bus stop for the Airport Limousine bus. As this hotel is my final stop in Korea, I was happy with such convenience. And yes, the hotel is situated together with all the love motels. But IMO this hotel is like a mixture of tourists hotel and love motel. However, Amourex has proper TV channels (no ‘adult channels’). Oh, and I must caution that within the underground subway link to exit 2, it has many stairs and no escalators, a good 5-10mins walk and climb, be prepared if you are lugging baggages. Location was good as there are eateries 10m away from hotel and buzzing with locals during evenings. There’s a shopping mall nearby with E-mart. Wangsimni is also one stop away from Cheongnyanri station via Jungang Line and easily accessible to Myeongdong or Dongdaemun via Line 2. I guess since we are tourists and we booked early, we got the highest floor at level 11. I assume that the lower level rooms are for the couples because I flipped through an album from the reception and all those themed rooms are at lower levels (flamboyantly decorated types). When going up the lifts, I caught a glimpse of different levels’ corridors and I would say level 11 is very decent and brightly lighted compared to other levels that are dark and you know what it meant. Our room is the last at the corner and hence it was rather quiet. The room was very spacious! Looks like it was newly renovated as it differs from the photos I saw from the web. A couple of lights not working and the layout is a bit weird because the bathtub was opposite of the toilet separated by the entrance door. The washing basin was outside and in the room itself, thus washing always leave the room floor wet. The room was decorated with fake flowers! At least the bath area has a glass shield (no doors) from the bed. From the floorplan map, I realize the room next to us had the bathtub beside their bed (open concept). Lucky I didn’t get that room as I don’t like my bed wet! Our bathtub was a 2 persons tub. No jacuzzi but had a rain shower. Computer with high speed internet is available in the room on a computer table but they didn’t provide a chair! Unsecured WiFi is available, so I could use my laptop. One very bad complain I had is with the housekeeping department. They do not vaccum the floor! My partner cut his toenails and dropped some on the floor. Those nails were there throughout our 4days stay! Needless to say, I developed sinus problem on the 3rd day as the room became very dusty. They only change the bedsheets/bath towels and dry the bath and toilet areas, other than that nada. Oh, the auto-bidet system was not working and the toilet bowl leaked. Even with windows shut, there were always these pesky little flies surrounding the toilet and bath area. I don’t really recommend to others and I chose this hotel instead of Hotel Vision because of its close proximity to the subway exit. But when I was there, Hotel Vision is not that far off from Amourex. So next time if I need to stay at this area, I would definitely choose Vision rather than this hotel.

We booked and fully paid for this hotel for 6 nights. After we checked in the hotel upon arrival in Seoul. We regreted the decision for this hotel as the taxi drove pass a whole lots of "love motel" on the same street. When we get into our room, it smells like the smoking room in an airport and the bathroom/toilet does not look clean at all. So we use the computer provided in the room to book another hotel and luckily we found Ibis in Myeong-Dong. Because we already checked in and fully paid, we could not get our money back but it was the best move that we got out of this hotel. The surrounding and the hotel itself does not feel comfortable or give us the right vibe at all.

I wouls not suggest anyone to stay at this hotel. My father and I stayed at this hotel and we found used condom wrapers on the side of the bed. We also had a sofa in the room and there was also open condom wrapers in the in between the cusions where you sit. The bath tub didn't have a shower curtain so the water was all over the bathroom floor. Then the mini refrig, didn't even work. This place is only good for a one night stand quicky! I would never stay here again and I would not suggest anyone else to stay there.
