This review is written with regard to the medical service at Jaz Grand Marsa: my wife had a muscular injury. Dr. Ahmed Ali and his colleagues were very competent and helpful. We wouldn‘t have had such a relaxed time without their help so thank you a lot!!

Where this hotel gets its nearly 4.9 rating from is honestly hard to understand. It’s definitely one of the most overrated hotels I’ve stayed at in Egypt. The biggest issue is the food. Breakfasts are okay – pretty standard. Lunch is decent too, but it’s basically the same every day. Dinner, however, is a huge disappointment. The menu barely changed throughout the entire stay – no variety at all for a hotel of this class. Only one dinner was slightly different (with sushi). For a longer stay, you genuinely start to struggle with what to eat. The à la carte restaurant (Asian) was also rather average. Portions are very small – you basically have to choose between soup, a few pieces of sushi, or a starter. Not great. Service is very inconsistent. The reception staff were not particularly friendly, and in the restaurant, waiters often pretend not to see you when you want to order drinks. There’s also no easy access to juices – you can only get them at one bar, and the quality is quite poor. Rooms definitely need renovation. On top of that, the water pressure in the shower was so weak that at times it was difficult to even wash your hair. Sunbeds by the pool are very worn out and clearly need replacing. Entertainment is also rather boring – not much going on. On the plus side: the pools are fine, and the evening waiters during the shows were great – the only ones who really created a nice atmosphere. Another downside is the minibar – only water is included in the room, everything else is charged (minimum €2). For an all-inclusive hotel at this price level, that’s quite disappointing. Compared to Pickalbatros hotels (also 5-star and often cheaper), this one performs significantly worse. In my opinion, a realistic rating would be around 4.3 at most, not nearly 5.

La propreté de l’hôtel, la gentillesse et la disponibilité du personnel ont été grandement appréciés. L’accès à la plage était facile. Il y avait assez de transats à la piscine. Les repas et buffets étaient variés et excellents.

J’aurais juste aimé recevoir un plan avec les différents endroits/ horaires pour les repas et les collations. Nous avons été manger au même endroit sans savoir qu’il y avait aussi la possibilité de prendre un repas le long de la plage.

Bellissimo resort con tutti i comfort possibili. La nostra esperienza qui è stata meravigliosa a dir poco, tanto da farci desiderare di tornare ancora per rivivere la magia di questi giorni. Lo staff è sempre disponibile e cordiale, le camere vengono pulite ogni giorno e il cibo che trovate a buffet sempre fresco. Non abbiamo mai avuto problemi né con le bevande né col mangiare. Se siete italiani e state leggendo: aspettatevi tanta varietà e freschezza ma non pensate di poter trovare le stesse cose fatte esattamente come in Italia. Ricordatevi che siete in un altro continente e siete ospiti. Aggiungo inoltre che le piscine erano meravigliose e veramente comode, potevi anche accomodarti ai loro bar e ordinare tutto lì. Semplicemente fantastico. Porterò sempre nel cuore l’Egitto e gli egiziani.
