Hitgeheim Country Lodge

Es war alles sehr sauber. Das Frühstück war gut und das Abendessen war ebenfalls sehr lecker. Alle waren sehr bemüht, sehr freundlich. Wir waren im Mai dort und hatten leider nicht so tolles Wetter. Die Safari war aber auch bei Regen sehr schön.

Die Unterkunft ist meiner Meinung nach etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Es war zwar alles sauber , aber vielleicht lag es daran , dass wir in der Nachsaison dort waren.Es war sehr kalt. Es gab halt keine Heizung. Zudem waren kaum Gäste dort. Es wirkte alles sehr dunkel.

The view from the rooms was very nice. The room was very spacious. The food was good. Both our kids were sick and the hotel staff did everything they could to attend to their needs. As to the safari's: In the morning we did Addo (with our own car). In the afternoon we did Schotia. If you want to do both in one day that is possible, but then you have to leave for Addo early (if you have time, spend an entire day in Addo). The tour for Schotia left from the hotel. We were 4 with two other couples and that was perfect. We had plenty of space. Schotia was absolutely fantastic. We saw plenty of animals, got good explanations from the guide/driver, never had to wait,... We stayed for the Boma diner and I would highly recommend it because it means that you can return home in the dark and see plenty more animals. We saw hunting lions etc.

The rooms and balcony and remote and silence location. Possibility to book game drives to Addo and Scotia with their own rangers. Flat tire caused in the access road in access road to hotel was repaired by tech team at no costs! That was super friendly.

First evening food was good. 2nd night food was not ok. If you like fine food, then you need to book another location. Furniture and style are getting a bit outdated, but rooms are well designed still. Please note Its a remote location! 3 km gravel road access.

Sehr saubere und schön gelegene Unterkunft.

Ausgesprochen sehr freundliches und zuvorkommendes Personal. Bis auf einen „weißen“ Südafrikaner, der nach meinem Empfinden von Dienstleistung und Arbeiten noch nicht so viel gehört hat.

The views was excellent and the staff were very nice.

The facilities in the room needs some upgrading - toilets / doors etc.

Grundsätzlich sehr nette Unterkunft, nettes Personal sehr gute Angebote für Safaris die unsere Erwartungen mehr als getroffen haben. Alles sehr sauber und gutes Essen.

Mir hat der eher rustikale/kolonial inspirierte Einrichtungsstil persönlich nicht so gut gefallen.

Wunderschöne Anlage, perfekt um den Addo zu erkunden. Am besten mit den angebotenen Safaris. Die Schotia Safari ist besonders zu empfehlen. Johann war ein super Guide, hat sehr viel über die Tiere erzählt. Besonders toll war die Rückfahrt durch den Addo zur Lodge wo wir zufällig eine Elefantenherde getroffen haben. Dinner war super und insbesondere das African Menü war lecker. Frühstücksauswahl ist sehr gut. Personal war insgesamt super zuvorkommend und freundlich.
