Castle by the Sea Motel

This is a small motel, completely renovated with pretty rooms that are clean and comfortable. It has a large clean pool and plenty of seating around the pool. You can easily walk to the beach (1.5 blocks) and downtown (3 blocks). It is a great value.

I tried multiple times to get in touch with someone (anyone!) at the property for approximately 4 days leading up to our stay. I had been trying to call to pay for a late check out and possible early check in but kept getting either an AI assistant that hung up on me or no answer at all. The night before our trip our flight was canceled so then I really needed to contact them but there was no answer. I also emailed and filled out the form on the website and had no answer. Someone finally called me on Tuesday, the day before we left. There was a woman there though when we arrived and she was very friendly. Also the wi fi was not good and that’s important because all of us had to do some remote work while we were there. I think I would still return unless I found a motel that was equally good AND has great communication :) In the last five years or so I have stayed in probably 100 hotels around the country and that has never happened.

La situation géographique plage, épicerie, restaurants, pharmacie, tout est à proximité et se fait à pieds. L'hôtel à environ 12 chambres. Petit endroit bien aménagé et propre. Plusieurs petites commodités cafetière, frigidaire, micro-onde, serviettes de plage, ventilateur même si l'air climatisé fonctionnait. La literie et la lingerie étaient impeccables. A l'état de neuf.

Seul petit bémol, c'est sûr que je suis minutieuse. Les murs de la chambre auraient besoin d'un bon nettoyage. Surtout la salle de bain. Estampes de souliers au mur et coulisses. J'ai même pris le temps de frotter pcq il y avait une accumulation de poussière et des tâches indésirables.

Great little hotel with everything you needed. 1/2 blocks to beach and lose to center of town. Renee the front desk manager will help you out with whatever you need.

There was no housekeeping

It was clean, cutely decorated, nice comfortable cushioned sitting area under a canopy by the good size heated pool. Enough towels and provided beach towels. We got in late but were able to get our key and get in fine. It is an older property so things are not in the absolute best shape but no roaches or bigs seen, tile floors, no carpet yay! Had an efficiency kitchen (that was older) but clean. Very close to the beach and an outdoor seating area with wooden beach chairs and umbrellas. Beach has a cold shower to rinse off before you get back to your room. It is a small motel and was quiet enough. A few people would sit outside by the pool and seemed to be enjoying it.

We had a brief time where our key card did not work and the office was closed. We didn’t know the office worker had put a new key in a box for us until she got there. But it worked out ok and we ended doing a late checkout and spent the day until 5.

Tipico Beach Hotel. Esta muy bien ubicado, muy cerca de la playa y centro. En esa zona son todos similares en cuanto a estructura. De nuestra parte buscabamos BBB (bueno bonito y barato) y cumplio bien. Habitación amplia con un vestidor aparte que nos ayudó a guardar el equipaje y no tener mucho lio. El baño grande y buena ducha.
