RH Hotel Pretoria

...amazingly greatest!

I stayed 3 nights at the hotel - it was what I needed as it was close to where I was working.

Rooms are extremely small but modern and updated, with warm wood accents, newer carpets and TVs, separate toilet and bath compartments, and stylish linens. But all that can’t make up for the fact that two people are very cramped in a standard room, which has a small bed, and does not have closets or even any place to put a chair or very large suitcase. (A solo business traveler would be best suited to this type of room.) The cheerful furnishings also could not mask the fact that there were a number of small things broken: the light switches, the TV, the toilet flush. There was a dank smell in the hallway too — I’m fairly sure it was emanating from the stairwell, whose door was left propped open. The fact that the hotel is directly connected to the Sunnypark Centre is a plus, but you don’t want to be out wandering after dark, and anyway the neighborhood has a distinct lack of upscale restaurants and nightlife. The hotel’s location is only ideal for those who are looking for an economical place to lay their head for a night or two while doing business in the government offices that line the adjacent blocks, or at one of the private firms in the CBD. But if you have the cash and want something more stylish in a better neighborhood, head out to Lynnwood or Menlyn Park.

Staff inefficient and tired. Reception slow. Spoke to duty mngr about a sleeper couch for child, after saying he would make bed up, he forgets, so had to call housekeeping late and make own bed. After function, went to bar, asked for tea, said it will take a long time, presumably to discourage us from ordering. When it arrived, had two tea bags for 4 people. Wouldn't go back there.

The staff is very kind but the hotel is too big and when is full there is a serious problems with the elevators. They are slow and during morning or evening rush hours is almost impossible to use. Then if you're in the last floor you need to exercise (11 floors!).

We needed a clean bed to stay over in Pretoria while we were driving from Kruger to Sun City. Worth its cost; however do not expect anything fancy. Help yourselves with your luggage bags. And, there is no clear big board directing towards hotel entrance. FYI, You take the Entrance gate to the mall, take your parking ticket (reimbursed by the hotel) and head to the top most floor. That is where it is.Room could have been a little more tidier. Breakfast was average. Best part is it is connect to the mall so you can dine in the restaurants.

In the middle of the hub of Pretoria, dangerous at night

Great budget style hotel, friendly staff the area seems a bit dodgy. The stay was spoilt a little as the air-conditioning was not working.

We had a wonderful 2 days stay. I was just dissappointed to find that my there was a double bed in my kids room, after having asked for two single beds as my son is 20 years old and my daughter 18 years old.
