Holmwood House Hotel

Nice and friendly staff

The staff members were wonderful hosts… helpful, polite, and professional. The breakfast was delicious and served in a delightful space. The Holmwood House is a great value.

The hotel was fine but the bed had springs sticking out everywhere completely worn out worst bed ive ever had in a hotel

close enoigh to York station, easily walkable to centre of town. few pubs in walking distance. room was perfect, decent sized shower. will use whenever i'm back in York.

The level of service from the people who worked there was exceptional

We stayed 2 nights on a short break to York on a budget. It was about a 15 min walk into the center of York which was perfect for us and a 10 min walk to Delrio's Italian restaurant which we would highly recommend The property was clean and the staff were pleasant. It is worth noting that there is an an extra £10.00 a day charge for parking which is highlighted when booking and is a fraction of the cost of the public carpark charges

There was no air in the room

Booked for a 2 night stay in a luxury room with en suite and 4 poster bed however that’s not what we got When we arrived we where given a standard double which was the cheaper rate room after a chat at reception it appears hotels.com sold me a room that wasn’t available so nothing more anyone could do I was offered a refund for the difference but Iv been home for a week and still nothing so now Iv taken the mater up with the booking site Hotel was very dated and not the cleanest of places but location wise it was 5 minutes to the train station 10 minutes to town and the breakfast was decent We stayed on a very warm weekend and there was no air con or a fan available making it impossible to sleep Would I stay here again simple answer is no

A late booking ahead of a 8:30 pm arrival. Excellent service provided over the phone, followed up with text and email to make sure that I’d received instructions of how to access the hotel and my room. A comfortable night’s sleep. Easy walk to city Centre.

They didn't have my booking on the system so checking in was not great. Booked breakfast but don't serve that until 8:15 which is not ideal when away on business.
