Hampton Inn & Suites Chicago Deer Park

Great location, helpful staff, well cared for facilities.

My family and I were recently displaced by severe storms and spent one night at the Hampton Inn, hoping for some rest during a stressful time. Unfortunately, our experience was anything but restful. At around 2 a.m., we were woken by a loud party in the room next door that escalated to the point where the sheriff's department had to intervene. Just as we were settling back in, a fire alarm went off at 3 a.m., forcing the entire hotel to evacuate into the parking lot. We were never informed when it was safe to return to our rooms, leaving us confused and exhausted. I reached out to hotel management afterward to express our concerns, but their response was dismissive. They claimed all procedures were followed and accepted no responsibility for the chaos or the lack of communication during the evacuation. Given the poor handling of the situation and the complete absence of accountability from management, I can confidently say we will never stay at this Hampton Inn again.

We loved the breakfast area and the all day coffee. We were surprised by the small frigid and microwave in the room. Thank you Expedia for the very good rate on the room.

Great location… friendly staff

The hotel itself is in great shape. I looks to have been recently updated and it is certainly in the top 1/4 of all Hamptons at which I have stayed. Buffet is standard Hampton, but always fully stocked. Rooms clean and comfortable. The downside (and it's a deal-breaker for me): The gym is completely unsatisfactory. I use hotel gyms everywhere I stay. The dumbbell rack is missing pretty much every weight normal people would use. It has 5, 10, 40, 45 and 50. It is missing 15, 20, 25, 30 and 35. So, you either need to be really weak or really jacked to get a decent weight workout here. Please do better. You have a nice hotel, but this is low-hanging fruit that you missed.

Clean

We stayed at the Hampton in for a wedding and we loved the establishment. The friendly staff, the cleanness and the continental breakfast.

Location.

No room service. We stayed for two days. At least we could have had our beds made and our garbage emptied. The mattress was hard.

Good location, not many choices in area, friendly staff. Recently renovated. Lipstick on a pig. If you are looking for more than a quick business trip and a single one night need to bring your own furniture. No luggage racks. Purchased racks for $90. Refrig in living area because no one measured space for old refrigerator which freezes everything in it. Loud noises in units. No chairs for sitting and no table for sitting area. Nothing comfortable. But considering choices not much available for extras to allow for a comfortable stay. Quick and out.
