We stayed in Shandry coach house. Privacy but close enough to main hotel for bar and restaurant

We had one night including dinner and enjoyed our stay. Maidencombe is a lovely area, but it's a steep walk back from the beach. Our room was very pleasant even though it wasn't the one expected (beware the description on Hotels.com, apparently the hotel issues a type of room rather than a specific room). Dinner was good, although there was a large hair in the fish and the room was clean apart from hairs on the bed. So a good stay but not quite perfect.

A fabulous stay in a unique and welcoming hotel. The room had everything we needed and more to be comfortable, the breakfast was excellent and it was easy to feel relaxed.

Character of the property was nice however, staff service was awful. I was belittled for eating my own food in the lounge whilst check in issues were being resolved by reception. Hotel owners demanded that I exit the lounge at once, despite the receptionist not informing me of any prohibited rules of eating, nor were there any visible signs that suggested this. Us university professors just like to relax at the end of a hard day’s work and really do not deserve to be spoken to like criminals.

Food was fantastic, staff were excellent, room was very clean and comfortable.. all round very happy with our trip

Amazing room with beautiful features comfortable bed. Love the different art and pieces in the lounge. Well kept areas. Clean and tidy. Modern yet with old pieces to admire

Lovely hotel with really friendly staff. Meals - dinner and breakfast - were excellent and good value for money. Room lovely. We'll be back :)
