Comfort Inn & Suites Daphne Spanish Fort - Mobile East

Upon entering we saw they are in the process of putting a fresh coat of paint on the walls.. all done very neatly. They were painting and it did not have a strong paint smell, but it made me feel OK because I knew they were improving the hotel. It was not messy in anyway. There is coffee, ready cold water ready with lemons in it for their guests. We were on the first floor room 104. The room was clean and nice and I’m pretty fussy. The king size bed was very comfortable and we slept well. I always bring my own pillows. My only complaint on being on the first floor is whenever anybody on the floor is above you flush the toilet you could hear the water going all the way down the pipes to wherever it goes so I would hesitate on being on the first floor in the future of any hotel. There is a continental breakfast, which was good. I wish they would’ve had whole wheat toast, but they had bagels and white bread sausage eggs biscuits, cereals, hot, cereals, waffles with strawberries, juice, apples, good coffee and muffins. The staff kept the area very clean. The staff was also very friendly. All in all, it was a good place to stay just for a night. The pool is an outdoor pool, which is very small and a hot tub. We did not use it.

Breakfast was okay. That was the only positive thing I can comment on.

We had to take a cold shower. The bed was horrible. There was trash out in the hall and it smelled horrible.

Having a suite with a couch was very nice.

Our manager, bless it I've forgotten her name:( she was so wonderful. I mean, above and beyond. My kids had way too much confidence and got diving toys, to which they could not dive to retrieve. Lol our manager, not the pool assistant or maintenance person, the manager paused everything else she was doing (and she was a busy lady, just never too busy for us!), to get every last toy out. There were like 20. I apologized profusely for my children's misunderstanding on how "dive toys" worked. Silly stay here again!!!

Hot tub was broken, to no fault of the staff! Just a really great perk we like to cash in on when booking for the family!
