Hampton Inn Evanston

Enjoyed our 1 night stay. Comfy, quiet room.

Very nice folks at the desk and in the breakfast room.

Clean and confident. Easy in and out.

1.5 hours into waiting for the front desk to fix my receipt. No management on site to assist (train) the girl who has only been employed a week. The desk chair air piston was broken. Sitting at the desk felt like I was 4 years old. Only other place to sit is the toilet... There was a puddle of dog urine between the beds....room 316. Every pillow smelled like body odor. Not sure if they didn't wash tge pillows or if the laundry person doesn't wear deodorant. Next time I'll try Rock Springs or Salt Lake. I have stayed in Evanston numerous times. It's always a "crap"-show.

Where should I begin…? I believe Anna is the name of the front desk manager or maybe she was the franchise owner. She was very professional and customer friendly but had a dilemma when we arrived. She could not get the system working to create room access cards for us. She improvised and assigned us room 309 and used her passkey card to open that room door to let us in with the promise that she would bring our keys up once the system began working again...but that never happened. Surprisingly shortly after 5:00 pm one of the hotel employees opened our door and walked straight in. Shocking! The employee did apologize for the intrusion retorting that the room was listed as unoccupied. Needless to say, this privacy violation unnerved us a bit and created an uneasy and unsafe apprehension all night. There was no compensational consolation for our inconvenience. As for the room, some items were worn but workable. The desk chair in our room was a bit tattered along the arm rest. The bed was okay too but considering the aforementioned....sleep quality was not to be had. This stop at Hampton counts as our 12th stay at a Hampton Inn this year with most receiving high ratings. This is not a bad location though. While we understood that malfunctions occur, circumstantially we cannot in good conscience rate our customer experience as good. Still and worth noting though for those EV owners....is that there were several EV charging bays at this location. “Now it's on to Ogden from here."

Great hotel. We’ll stop here again bed was comfortable. Very quiet. Check in was easy and quick. Breakfast hit the spot.
