Thank you to the team at Residence Inn Gainesville I-75 for one of the nicest experiences I’ve had during my travels. I booked this hotel over a month ago through the Marriott Bonvoy app as an Elite member. The response I received from the staff, as well as the check-in process—including early check-in and late check-out—was fantastic. The room was clean, spacious, and had everything needed for work, relaxation, or entertainment. Breakfast was good. Although I didn’t have a chance to use the pool or fitness center, I definitely recommend this hotel. If you ask me, I would rate this hotel as top 3 hotels that I stayed in the past 15 years.

"Very comfy"

Although we were next to highway I-75, we didn't hear any noise from the interstate. The room was bigger than expected. There was a variety of hot food for breakfast

"Gainesvilles Hotel Gamble"

The basics are all present and rooms offer a good layout with adequate comfort, one side of the hotel is very noisy as it faces the I75 and it’s very close. The pictures here show the hotel some point in the past as its shiny and fresh appearance has now gone replaced with a dull and somewhat tarnished outlook. If you experience no issues you will undoubtedly rate the hotel as ok or even good. If you experience issues you will likely have a very very different outlook. Customer service standards as prescribed by the current General Manager leave massive, massive, massive room for improvement. Flip a coin… you might get lucky. For context this stay was over many weeks and had many issues… this was not just an unlucky visit.

"Worst residence inn I’ve ever visited"

Due to my job I’m a frequent user of residence inn marrriott and I usually stay for months. The breakfast they offer is just bread and juice or coffee, hardly you can get eggs or something else. Room service is so poor, they don’t do it right, all the pots and pans are so old and dirty when you just check in, I also found cockroaches in the kitchen. It is hard to find parking spots, the hotel is right next to the highway so there’s a lot of noise. Some people of the front desk are nice and willing to help (that’s why I give it 2 out of 5)

"Comfortable hotel very close to I-75."

Breakfast was good, the hotel was close to where we needed to be and the room was large.

We were disappointed that we had to use paper plates and plastic cutlery at breakfast. Also, we were unfortunate to get a room on the side of the hotel closest to the I-75 and it sometimes sounded like the trucks were in our room.

"Vastly different between visits"

This property is was vastly different my two stays. The first time we stayed with our family in November 2024, it was such a wonderful experience. It was like clean, ran like a well oiled machine, and everything was great. It was so lovely, I was mad we hadn’t stayed there more often in the 4 years our daughter was in college there. HOWEVER, when I returned in February 2025, I couldn’t believe it was the same place such a short time later. There were no special touches, not as clean, even though I arrived early in the morning to let them know I was in town, they GAVE MY ROOM AWAY to another large party. After calling me to the front desk many times, i heard the supervisor say “oh well, she is here on points.” Regardless of my stay currency, I should be treated the same. They kept telling me that the family they gave my room to, had paid way in advance. Well I booked my room months in advance. Then to try and make up for not giving us the two room suite promised, they gave me two connecting separate rooms which sort of out a damper on my family staying together. Fine. But then they charged me for the second room! I called for weeks trying to get it off my credit card and a manager would never call me back. So the weekend that should have had a two bedroom suite completely on my Marriot points, turned into a two separate room stay with my party and I was charged for the second room. Since no one would refund me or call me back, I finally called Marriot Visa and reported as a fraudulent charge to get a refund. I hope they use this as a training opportunity in the two different ways a customer would experience their property.

"Good"

The check in was so bad that we cancelled our stay. So sad. It was our granddaughters college graduation. We waited at the front desk for 2 hours for our room to be made available. The clerks at the front desk had no interest in helping us. It was a horrible experience on what should have been a joyous occasion.

The cleanliness and general cleaning were sub par. The kitchen in the room lacked some of the utensils and crockery. It was never checked. For the price of the room I would expect the breakfast to be offered on ceramic crockery and steel cutlery not plastic.
