Friendly Warning: Detailed review! 1) the small scale: it's a small "campus" instead of a compact building, where the 21 rooms are strewn over the lush open garden in 1-2 storey buildings with lots of woodwork. It makes for a very airy, breezy feel where your view wanders easily to the beach and sea that are visible from everywhere. 2) the very large airy rooms, with elegant wooden colonial-style furniture and pretty colourful accents set by cushions and bedcover. 3) the breakfast: nice fresh selection of everything one could want, plus lots of warm dishes and a cook at hand who makes fried eggs and Omelettes on request. It does not have any of the sometimes "visual opulence" of food sculptures that I remember from larger hotels, but I don't need that at breakfast and did not miss it at all. 4) the relaxed atmosphere everywhere. I remember from larger, more traditional holiday-hotels that there is always people running around in the common spaces, queueing to speak to reception or concierge - not so here. It's always really peaceful and life seems to run at a slower pace as soon as you enter the hotel area. 5) Last but not least the friendliness of the staff. Sometimes questions of more complex topics are difficult to communicate about but that was our general experience in Thailand, not specific to Baan Bayan. However, the staff here always tries to be helpful and to understand. The team at the pool is particularly cheerful and spreads the good humour about, really enjoyed it! In summary: We were here for the 2nd time already, and will definitely be back.

nothing we didn't like. like everywhere there are always small things that annoy one person more than others but they were far too minor for us to mention specifics here, as all the good we experienced from our stay by far outweighs any minor qualms we may have had.

Beach right in front of hotel for swim - just like all other hotels on beach

Room overlooked on 3 sides so kept curtains closed - sea view restricted - small dirty balcony - electrics faulty light only work if air con on. Grounds of hotel felt worn out, unappealing. Location boring - just shop mall / 7 eleven - no bars / restaurants. On check out all senior staff member asked was had I returned beach towel coupon - not ask did I have nice stay. Would rate as 3 star.

Mature beautiful garden and laid back vibe right in the heart of Hua Hin beach and close to amenities such as 7 11, Tops, wine Tops, shopping mall, massage etc

Smoking near the pool wold have been a nice option
