Khaolak Wanaburee Resort - SHA Extra Plus

Lots of shade!! Didn’t have to “fight” for lounge chairs. Beautiful beach. Lovely and responsive staff. Nice rooms. Everything is close.

The walkways down the hill from the lobby are quite rickety and poorly lit at night - dangerous actually.

No Wi-Fi connection in the hotel rooms. Ants on the balcony and a big lizard in the bushes outside. Very poor and quick cleaning, they forgot to give us beach towels. Not worth the money.

The breakfast buffet is excellent and the staff very very friendly. The rooms quite modern and clean. The location ist really good,very calm,lovely resort and nice beach. The manager,she is so kindly and she takes always time to talk with the guest.

Khaolak is a much quieter location than Patong, and this property caters to an older / family market. a short walk to the main street with lots of restaurants, the 7/11, and thankfully we stumbled upon the delicious Bella Italian, en route to a night market. Dream Bar has very well-priced cocktails and beer, compared to most other places. Always a taxi available to take you into or out of town at TBH 100 one way.

Only one restaurant at the hotel, limited menu and very small portions. No actual spa as advertised, ladies were offering basic massages on the beach, which was great and very affordable. Hotel breakfast was simple, the same every day, which got a bit boring after a week. Unfortunately, no water sports due to conservation, and it's quite a long boat trip to get to the closest Similan Island / National Park for a visit.

Friendly staff. Good restaurant and bar. Nice room. Beautiful pools and beach.

Some features on the grounds are showing some age. One of the sidewalks was closed because of failing concrete. One sidewalk was flooded because of poor drainage. Overall, minor stuff.
