MUKDARA BEACH VILLA & SPA RESORT

We have stayed at Mukdara twice now. Once a 12 months after that dreadful tsunami and more recently. I read that reviewers have been compalining about the place looking :tired" and "run down". But it seems help is on its way as Mukdara has new owners and a new name. Good location in busy Kao lak. I agree with some of the comments that this hotel is in need of a makeover and this could be seen evidenced in our garden villa. Although very spacious it was extremely dark and the bathroom had a very worn bath with cracks and a rusty nail hanging out of the wall. That said the hotel does provide a very good breakfast with lots of choice for Asian and westerners. The pool grounds were also stunning.

A pleasant hotel with a huge garden right on the beach. We stayed here for one week in a villa near the pool. The villa is very spacious and with comfortable beds, loved the outdoor shower and with birds and other small animals we enjoyed the balcony setting. The fan and air-con can be a little noisy, so we left the windows open. Food is ok at the restaurant and bar, and we had two delicious room services. Very close by are numerous shops and restaurants etc. providing a good variety and alternatives. Staff at the reception is very friendly but language skills (english) limited.

Wir hatten eine Villa, die vom Platzangebot her sehr großzügig und auch zweckmäßig ausgestattet war, inkl. Freiluftdusche. Frühstücksbuffet sehr üppig, für jeden was dabei. Lokale, Bars und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten in Hülle und Fülle direkt vor der Anlage

Sehr gut hat mir gefallen, dass das Hotel immer noch im Thai-Style ist. Leider hat es einen Renovierungsstau und so sind halt manche Sachen einfach kaputt. Personal ist in Ordnung - vereinzelt sind die Mitarbeiter auch super. Verhältnis Preis-Leistung wird leider nach und nach weniger gut

Just got back from this beautiful hotel and resort. I've read reviews,the hotel is looking tired. Their was no evidence of this at all but we were staying in one of the villa's which was fabulous. The whole place is the epitome of tranquility and quintessentially Thai,set a few yards from the most beautiful, peaceful beach. Breakfast was adequate but not much choice for westerners. The hotel was predominantly occupied by Russians & Germans but this was the case throughout Khoi Lak. Our villa was cleaned to a high standard and bedlinen/towers changed every day. The pool areas are stunning. The main pool is just beautiful and until 3.00pm,so relaxing and calm. Happy hour begins at 3.00pm and on the dot,everyday, a large crowd of germans descended around the pool bar. They were very loud and completely dictated the area,spoiling the atmosphere and ruining it for others. The bar attendants played to the crowd & the music(heavy rock) was cranked up which completely ruined the atmosphere and peacefulness of the surroundings. One woman was smoking a cigarette in the pool( every day) with the ash falling into the water!! The bar staff did nothing. My husband and I complained at reception but nothing was done because it was the same the following day. There was no thought given at all to other holiday makers. In fact,a lot of people got up and moved. This is something the management need to address. Other than this,we had a very nice stay. The staff were wonderful,friendly and very hard working.

Mukdara is een prachtig complex in een schitterende tuin met een zeer groot zwembad en nog twee andere pools. Ontbijt aan het strand is uitgebreid en lekker. Wij hadden een kamer van 45 m2, die zijn wel wat gehorig. De villa’s zijn nog ruimer, maar ook duurder; o.i. niet nodig. Er zijn gelukkig voldoende lekkere ligbedden aan het mooie strand. Jammer niettemin dat er altijd mensen zijn die zelfs al voor het ontbijt ‘hun’ plekje menen te moeten reserveren. In de omgeving zijn ruim voldoende restaurants, massagesalons, etc. Hoewel nu nog voldoende in orde heeft het complex vrij snel onderhoud nodig voordat het er echt slecht gaat uitzien. Jammer dat er rond de receptie verschillende gebouwen en zalen ongebruikt staan. Wellicht de coronaperiode niet overleefd…

Das Hotel hat eine sehr gute Lage, man kann hier schön Urlaub machen. Kleine zeitliche Mängel, könnte man erneuern( Risse an Mauer, Pool) um das Gesamtbild aufzufrischen. Etwas ungewöhnlich ist ,dass man beim Frühstück andere Kaffeearten (Cappuchino...) zahlen muss??? und an manchen Tagen schmeckt der Kaffee nach Tee(die Kannen sollte man nicht tauchen!!) Es war auf jeden Fall eine schöne Zeit!!

Fantastiskt hotell, fantastiskt läge. Vi kommer tillbaka!
