Moracea by Khao Lak Resort

We had a wonderfully peaceful week at Moracea by Khao Lak Resort, staying in an Orchid partial sea view bungalow. The bungalow itself was beautiful, with a lovely outlook over the pool and sea. The bed was one of the comfiest we’ve experienced in Thailand, and the quiet surroundings meant we slept exceptionally well. Breakfast was varied and made even better by the beachfront setting. The beach itself is stunning and, despite being public, felt much quieter than others in the area due to its more secluded location. The grounds are lush and beautifully maintained. While the resort is quite hilly, we actually liked this as it added to the privacy—and the staff were always happy to provide a lift whenever needed. The team were consistently friendly and helpful. We also really appreciated their efforts in locating an item we accidentally left behind after moving on to Phuket, holding it safely until it could be collected. A couple of small, constructive points: although there are signs discouraging reserving sunbeds, this wasn’t really monitored and many beds were taken early and left unused for long periods. It’s fairly common in many resorts, and while not ideal, it didn’t detract from our stay—we simply adapted to the routine most guests seemed to follow. Additionally, a shuttle service to Bang Niang Market would be a great addition, as taxis at around 400 baht return can add up over a few trips. There are some great restaurants within walking distance—Walkers was a standout—and the nearby Andaman bar is also worth a visit: very reasonably priced and always popular. Drinks within the hotel were also fairly priced compared to other places we’ve stayed in Thailand. Overall, we had a fantastic stay. The minor points above are simply suggestions rather than complaints, and they certainly wouldn’t stop us from returning—we’d happily stay here again on a future trip to Khao Lak.

A fantastic stay at Moracea Hotel in Khao Lak! The beautiful natural surroundings make this place truly special, birds and small animals live freely among the villas, creating a unique and peaceful atmosphere. It really feels like a privilege to be part of it. Everything else is excellent as well: very friendly staff, great service, lovely rooms, and a stunning location right by the beach with picturesque rock formations. Highly recommended!

A coffee machine in the room would have been great.

Wir sind bereits das 4. Mal im Moracea und lieben es immer noch!! Kommen bestimmt noch ein paar Mal. Natürlich gibt es einige Abnutzungserscheinungen, die uns nicht weiter stören und auch der Witterung und des Klimas geschuldet sind.

Der Ventilator könnte regulierbar sein. Und für uns Mädels (bzw. auch für die Buben) wäre ein Ganzkörperspiegel und ein echter Föhn fantastisch. Aber das nennt man wohl, meckern auf hohem Niveau!!! 😊

A wonderful holiday , hotel fantastic , room was very spacious , staff gentle friendly and kind too many names to mention . Beach is beautiful . Sandy and unspoiled. Would recommend the Moracea . Look forward to returning next year ….
