The Dewa Koh Chang

Het resort is absoluut Instagrammable. Iedere plekje in het hotel ziet er prachtig uit en moest ik vastleggen. We zaten in een villa en die was ruim en had heel goede AC.

Je ziet helaas toch wel tekenen van veroudering en dat is jammer met zo een mooi hotel! Te beginnen met de appartementen die aan het zwembad liggen; ik vond ze er erg verouderd uitzien aan de buitenkant en de verf bladert er vanaf. Daarnaast vind ik dat het hotel best kan investeren in comfortabele ligstoelen aan het zwembad en bij de zee: wij hielden niet langer dan een uur vol voordat we pijn kregen aan ons achterwerk. Het ontbijt en de presentatie vind ik basic, maar voldeed wel. Ik denk dat met een paar aanpassingen de totale experience van het hotel nog beter wordt!

The Dewa is a lovely resort with a relaxing atmosphere and friendly staff. What impressed us most was how the team handled an unexpected situation with professionalism, understanding, and genuine care. Their willingness to help made a significant difference to our overall experience. Thank you for the warm hospitality—we truly appreciated it and would gladly stay here again.

Everything is perfect here. This was my first time, but definitely not my last!!

Eine perfekte Hotelanlage.

Am Strand und im Meer hindern Steine am angenehmen baden.

An architecturally stunning hotel, surrounded by lush greenery. The pool is very large and spacious. The beach is beautiful, the sea is calm. The beach is always very quiet. The hotel breakfast was a highlight. Absolutely everything you could think of!! Salads, cheese, fresh fruits, hot dishes, egg station, breads, pastries and dim sum. All presented beautifully and super fresh. One improvement I would make would be the coffee. An automatic machine, average coffee. I was also really looking forward to going to their beautiful cafe. The decor was gorgeous, but the lady didn’t know how to make barista quality coffee, so I only went once. The location was great. Half an hour from the ferry. Walk out the hotel and there are shops and restaurants 5 mins away and a half an hour walk to Kai Bae, where there are shops, restaurants, cafes and massage salons. I think the arrival process could also be improved, we sat at reception and had lots of paperwork to sign, which was a bit overwhelming after a long journey. It would have been better to have been greeted on the comfy chairs, with a cold tropical drink and a cold towel, with less paperwork. Yes I would recommend this gorgeous hotel.

While The Dewa Koh Chang excels in its beachfront location and striking architectural decor, our actual experience did not live up to what we expected. We paid a premium price to stay here during the low season, so we expected seamless service and pristine conditions. Instead, a severe lack of housekeeping oversight and poor organization dragged our stay down to a disappointing 3-star experience. To start, our check-in process was poorly managed. We were assured by the staff that our room would be ready for us, but it was not. We were left waiting for roughly 30 minutes just for the front desk to finalize everything and get us into the room. The most unacceptable part of the stay was the cleanliness. Even though the room had supposedly been checked and cleared for arrival, the bathtub had a repulsive smell of urine. Furthermore, opening the interior cabinets revealed a strong, distinct odor of pests. For the premium rates this hotel charges—even during the off-peak season—basic hygiene and immediate room readiness should be a given. Management needs to address these severe housekeeping failures immediately.
