"Good place to stay"

8.0

We spent three nights here and were surprised how good it was. Our room, 804, was clean the beds were comfortable and gave us a good nights sleep. The ensuite was big enough had a large walk in shower and plenty of space for the two of us to put our stuff out. Breakfast were a large mix of local food and typical English breakfast fare. Very happy to recommend this to you

"Excellent Rooms, Friendly Staff but few drawbacks"

8.0

The hotel rooms are quite spacious and Jack Li and his subordinate (Yong) at the front desk were very courteous and helpful. We would recommend that such staff should be promoted who go out of their way to help tourists like us who don't know Chinese. However, there are two bad experiences with this hotel. 1. First time we saw that kids are not free at breakfast, there was a charge of 40 RMB per child even though kids were less than 5 years old. Normally, this is included with the room. Also, the lady in the restaurant who collects the coupon was very unfriendly and rude. She says No to things like tomato ketchup even while it is there in the buffet. 2. We took help of Kevin at the front desk (Chinese name of this person is different) to book us a taxi with English Guide to Great Wall of China. He cheated the hotel and us by telling us not to book through the hotel and went outside the premises to cut a deal 1500 RMB with one of his friends, which is double the cost of normal tours and travels for similar taxi with English Guide. We felt very cheated that a hotel staff did this with us especially since it was our first day in China. He should ideally not be facing clients.

"Just ok"

6.0

This hotel is really just ok, nothing more. The room wasn't bad, but I had the bad luck of being above what appeared to be a noisy subway entrance, with people milling about all evening and night, taxis picking up passengers, street food sold to the hungry travelers, and huge garbage bins far down under the window. Window had to remain closed to partially block out the noise. Breakfast was ok, again, nothing more. Getting a taxi to come to the hotel in the morning was impossible, but the receptionist was nice enough to accompany me out to the main street a few hundred meters away to catch one. Of all the hotels I stayed in during my visit in china, this was my least favorite hotel.

"Bugs in the Night"

2.0

Checked into this hotel late May, 2017 on a group tour. Hotel tired looking and in an out of the way location. Staff's English was very limited, tho they seemed to try and were pleasant. A/C in Lobby was great. What a fooler. There was no A/C in hotel rooms. I had no toilet paper in mine. Called front desk and was promptly delivered dinner napkins. Went to lobby desk and had to pantomime toilet paper. I will leave this to the reader's imagination. Room was hot and stuffy. Carpets were filthy. Refrigerators in rooms did not work. Staff was always good about coming up and looking at stuff, but were unable to help much and/or speak much English. Got up in middle of night and there were cockroaches running around bathroom. Squashed them and took them to front desk for a room change next day. I received a room change and upgrade (graciously) to a room that was twice as big and twice as dirty. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this place.

"A well equipped but very worn hotel"

6.0

Has all you need for a short stay. Decor in rooms in very poor order, however, rooms are clean. Strong smell of cigarettes, not everyone abides by the no smoking policy. Breakfast was ok. Not too much noise from street level. Convenience store and subway just around the corner. If you like to have an English cup of tea in your room, I would advise taking dried milk powder and extra t bags. Be prepared for heavy smog.

"Disappointing Breakfast"

6.0

Stayed at this hotel as part of a Wendy Wu tour. The hotel lobby was nicely decorated but the hotel receptionists weren't very helpful or friendly. The room was adequate. The buffet breakfast was awful. All the hot food was cooked but cold because the bain marie's were not lit to keep it warm. It was so bad we bought pastries from the local shops and had them for breakfast instead. The location was not central but with a subway stop next to the hotel, it is convenient and easy to get to the centre of Beijing on the subway.

"Looks can be deceiving"

8.0

We stayed for three nights. The lobby and local environs suggests a pretty ordinary hotel. However, we were very impressed with the room. As we returned to the hotel after visiting another city, we experienced two different rooms. Both were of a good size but the room on the end of the floor was considerably larger. Both rooms had an interesting bathroom glass wall. They also had a curtain for privacy. The beds were at least king size. I love room with plenty of space to move around and a desk area for computer and electronics. The power points were universal accepting Aust/US/Jpn plugs. One comment I would make is that hotels of this vintage do not have enough power point sockets. Always a good idea to travel with double adapters or a power board. There was strong wifi throughout the hotel. A buffet style breakfast was served on the fourth floor with good combination of western and eastern dishes. The lobby has a money changing machine which seemed to offer very comparable rates of exchange. There was also and ATM and lobby bar. We were pleasantly surprised by the Super House International Hotel.

"Comfortable hotel"

8.0

A 3 night stay in a clean and pleasant hotel with a comfortable bed and friendly and helpful staff, some English speaking. The odd smell was traced down to incense in the bathroom. Two bottles of water provided, along with a safety box, basic toiletries and tea/coffee making facilities, but bring your own spoon! We were amused that several priced up items were on display in the bedroom, together with an inventory and price list of furnishings in case you wanted to take anything with you, though we don't know who would want to buy a second hand bed sheet! Seriously though, this is an adequate hotel and we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. The location was unimportant and used as a base as we were taken everywhere by coach on a Wendy Woo tour.
