The White Horse Inn

Check in polite and courteous. Family room large and modern. Furniture, tv all of excellent quality. Beds luxurious and the whole family slept well. We had dinner in the evening and the food was superb. Excellent restaurant service. Breakfast in morning was extremely tasty and service was quick. Would definitely stay again when in the area.

No better place to stay, great food, great staff.

We could not believe how fantastic this hotel was! All newly renovation - huge bathroom, great beds, plenty of space. Service was fantastic - breakfast was the best - we could order anything from full breakfast menu. Lovely ancient pub connected by annexe.

Only there for a short overnight stay but the service was very friendly. The hotel is directly on a very busy road and the traffic noise might disturb light sleepers. Comfortable bed. No frills but met my requirements perfectly

I travel constantly in the UK using various hotel / B'n'B's and, from a staffing aspect, this is one of the best pub / restaurant / accom hostelries. Overall room size, condition was good - slight issue with net curtains in my room that could use a spring clean - and the food (evening meals especially) was of a very good standard. Obviously, has a good reputation locally as both nights I stayed were busy with diners. However, for me, the stand out aspect was the 'front of house' team (3 young ladies in the evening and, another, lady who organised breakfast service). I don't know if the owners have invested in training or if they have found particularly 'customer savvy' staff but all were very friendly, efficient and attentive to any requests made on them (I work in sales / service industry). I am aware, in writing this (and I, rarely, bother to comment on my travels) that we all have our 'own standards' so to speak (I have been 'taken in' by remarks for acommodation stating 'fabulous' and 'excellent' where, I do wonder, about so called ratings) but this - on my visit - was a very good establishment with excellent service levels.

Modern accommodation behind a lovely old character inn, plenty of parking, free wi-fi, excellent food available at the inn. Staff were all really nice and very friendly.

An enjoyable three night stay at a very competitive price. Wide breakfast menu and more than adequate dinner menu.
