"Remote colonial ex-plantation hotel with a huge potential for improvement"

The pool itself is very small but interesting.

-The staff is not accommodating (at breakfast pancakes with blueberries on the menu, come without blueberries. When asked why- they say they can offer strawberries and proceed to bring you exactly two (2) strawberries) -the restaurant does not work half of the week because there are no guests in high-season, portions are small and bland, and prices are way too high for the value -rooms are full of mosquitoes -entrance doors to the rooms in the main building have a huge gap underneath where all the lizards/mosquitoes can enter

"Worst hotel in Barbados"

Do not believe Booking.com that this is a luxury hotel, it's the worst 2* hotel I have ever stayed in. Room was nice but nothing else was good, there is no resturant or bar on Mondays or Tuesdays apparently but no where is this advertised, the staff all left after we checked in, so no one and I do mean litrally no one available to answer issues.. our safe didn't work but locked with all of our money in so we were stuck unable to go anywhere for food.. no phones or number to call but it stated use a whatsapp message which we did.. this was still not answered by 10am next day.. absolute joke.. we checked out early as could not stay another day in this place...

"A beautiful property, poor experience of staff in terms of customer satisfaction"

Beautiful grounds, a small authentic building with yoga facilities and wonderful views of the area. Great spa, the therapist Alicia? was very good!

Sadly the property double-booked the room I had specifically requested (and paid for). I arrived in the evening to be told the room was occupied by someone else! I was appalled as it was the room type that had generated the booking -This would suggest the room type was mis-sold on-line. They blamed booking.com. I requested a full refund as a result. They agreed as long as I paid for another room in full! There seemed to be no or little understanding of customer experience or handling. With some pressure, I was offered 30% off the price of the room but there would be no flexibility on check-out times. Bearing in mind I was only there for a night (arrived after 8pm) and had an evening flight to catch the following day, the entire experience was soured. I had communicated with the property in advance of my stay requesting a late check-out but again told this wasn't received -They operate from two platforms which doesn't appear to be working. Whilst apologetic, I didn't feel the on-site manager, Sheena offered any flexibility, particularly as staff were sitting around for most of the day when I was told the rooms would need to be prepared swiftly for new guests. I ended up spending the day with my bags packed and opted for a massage just to feel I had had a break. I was grateful for the offer of a shower and warming food items before I left but in future, regardless of who was to blame, the property should do everything in their power to ensure customer satisfaction -It would have gone a long way if a later check-out, a complimentary meal or further discounted treatment was offered. Having made the decision to visit from the UK, this wasn't the experience I anticipated. Please be sure to check ALL details before you arrive as the property is small and the site is fairly remote -It can impact your trip when you are anticipating a specific type of stay.
