Lyn was a brilliant host. Nothing was too much trouble

Breakfast was very good and location was perfect as it was by the local train station which I needed the following day.

If you are travelling by rail, stay here instead of more expensive places like Basingstoke or Farnborough. It is a quaint pub/restaurant hotel which is basic but well maintained and very friendly. I felt safe staying here as a solo female.

This is a comfortable, very friendly, unpretentious place to stay.

Only one very small comment: it would be good to have the shower upgraded to something slightly more modern and powerful and to enable the head to be slid to a lower height if needed. Ladies don’t always want to get their hair wet!

We had an overnight stay in this comfy hotel. The room was spotlessly clean and nicely furnished.Large beautiful garden and loads of parking. Home cooked food and a good selection of beers and wines. All in a quite away from it all setting. The bonus was the friendly helpful staff. Nothing was too much trouble for Lynn and the team from the moment we made the booking to the end of our trip. We will definitely return when we are in the area.

About what you'd expect from accommodation in a village pub. A bit dated, especially the bathroom, but all serviceable. The evening meal menu was heavily weighted towards vegetarian options.

The pre-booking arrangements were a bit weird. This may be the company handling their booking rather than their own choice - I don't know - but they wanted to know stuff that I have never been asked on a hotel booking form form before. I am in various hotels and Inns about 24 times a year but I have never before been asked for my driving licence number, for example, whereas it was on the form I had to complete prior to arrival. In these days when identity details are becoming ever more sensitive, I thought this was strange and would put me off re-booking.

Friendly people and did exactly what we needed it for. Lynn and the team were very accommodating to us. We didn’t use it but there was a nice beer garden there. Clean and tidy and team were very warm to us. Handy being close to the station but did not hear any trains if I am honest. No. 18 😀

It was acceptable for our requirements. The garden was lovely to relax in as it was a lovely evening.

We thought the price of breakfast was too high for what was on offer.
