Saddleback Inn at Lake Arrowhead

This hotel is a gem! It’s within walking distance to the village and many other sites nearby to explore. This hotel is charming, from the decor to the staff, it’s worth a visit and a stay. It’s about my 5th visit in the past 20 years and I’ve stayed twice. This month I drove up to have dinner and drinks my cousin, I must say both we’re excellent. The food was and the hospitality were exceptional. Karen and Heather at the front desk are very helpful and give great suggestions if needed. Bring your family, your spouse, and/or your friends.

Gorgeous! Quaint! 5 minutes walk to the village. Excellent restaurant and bar!

We had the most pleasant experience in the cabin nestled among the big trees all around. The brick walkways thru the cabins and trees were so inviting and well maintained. Everything about the charming cabins was clean, tasteful, and well done. The whole experience was first class.

Very friendly and accommodating.

They charge a $30 resort fee but don’t have a pool, gym or any other amenities. The resort is “the parking lot” For this reason we will never return. It’s a blatant ripoff.

Ambience was amazing! Staff were so friendly and helpful. Love how close it was to the lakes and shops.

The room was nice. Plenty of breathing space. Ac was great. Instant hot water was great. Nice size bathtub. And had a good street view. Parking great. Tv worked well.

The blankets were a tad light but overall pretty great.

Rooms could use some updating and the breakfast in the lobby is not good. Not a lot to choose from and the bagels are stale.

First I’d like to say the staff is super friendly. Karen is very nice, helpful and really cares about her guests and the property. The restaurant, for “dinner only” on weekdays was excellent! Good food and good service! Those details are 5 stars. My reason for 3 stars is because of the “extortion fee….sorry, “resort fee”. It’s so very wrong to charge a guest when you enter to check in. $30 for what? There’s no pool that needs help paying for maintenance. No breakfast. The mid tier king room overlooks a 7/11 with a raucous parking lot. We heard all kinds of vocal interactions all night long. So definitely not a “Resort”. Weekday guests that are charged this fee get no breakfast. It’s literally a fee for absolutely nothing and it really made me feel like I wasn’t welcome. Just a wallet. Also…the lake…Lake Arrowhead is a private lake for the uber wealthy homeowners. You can’t even dip a toe in the lake. And the downtown retail/restaurant district is being renovated and it looks as if the construction has halted. We were there on 2 weekdays and saw no one working. This review is dated 8/11-12/2025. Like I said. The staff is great. Even our cabin was nice. I was just completely soured by the “resort fee”. This place is definitely NOT a resort. So to demand $30 upon check in after you already paid for the stay, wasn’t very nice, at all. Stop doing that…at least on a weekday when you don’t offer a breakfast. Shady.
