The Editory By The Sea Troia Comporta Hotel

Foi uma estadia muito agradável, o apartamento estava bem equipado, limpo, o pequeno almoço correspondeu.

I recently stayed at Hotel in Troia | The Editory By The Sea, and I am very disappointed. This hotel claims to be 5 stars, but in my experience, it deserves no more than 3 or 4 stars. The facilities are in poor condition. The pool is especially concerning; it's old, dirty, and unsafe. Both the children's and adults' pools have loose tiles, posing a significant risk, especially for children who could easily get injured. In fact, my husband cut his finger on a raised tile in the lobby, and the staff did nothing about it. The food quality is disappointing. The menu never changes, and the food offered is monotonous. Additionally, the staff's inability to speak English is surprising for a supposed 5-star establishment. The cleanliness of the rooms is also a major issue. The room was not cleaned properly, sometimes the trash bins were not emptied, the bathrooms were not cleaned, and the beds were just made. The phone in the room didn't work to communicate with the reception, and the internet was terrible. Despite bringing these issues to the attention of the reception staff, nothing was done to resolve them. Do not be deceived by the 5-star rating. This hotel falls far short of those standards. Save your money and stay somewhere else.

Fizemos early check in sem problemas. Chegamos mais cedo e já tinham o quarto pronto e deixaram-nos entrar. Perto da praia, muito sossegado. Apanhamos um fim de semana de sol e bom para usufruir do melhor de Tróia. A praia e as caminhadas pela areia que sabem sempre bem em pleno Novembro. Não dou 5 estrelas de overall devido ao pequeno almoço. Não são organizados, a variedade para um hotel de 5 estrelas deixa muito a desejar. Acho que para um hotel de 5 estrelas o pequeno almoço tem muito a melhor, a começar na organização da sala e dos trabalhadores. Na parte da seleção que temos de comida para o pequeno almoço, acho que para o que se paga e sendo 5 estrelas poderiam e deviam ter melhor oferta. Mas no geral gostamos da estadia.

Bom nível de limpeza e conforto. Foram céleres na resolução das situações que se foram apresentando. A equipa é jovem e simpática contudo denota-se a inexperiência. Felizmente existem funcionários que resolvem. Pequeno almoço Bom. A cozinha equipa com o necessário.

The Editory by the Sea is in a great location on the eastern side at the top of the Troia peninsula. Very good service in the hotel, all the staff helpful. Our room was classed as an apartment, however it was really a big - ish bedroom with a sink and basic cooking facilities. But for what we wanted it was ideal, comfy bed, good shower, good WiFi, balcony with a great view overlooking the Sado estuary (on the east side of the hotel). Clean and well maintained. The food was very good, excellent breakfast, apart from the coffee from the flasks, I would recommend you ask for a coffee from the machine. We ate dinner here twice and it was very good. The location is about 200mtrs from the passenger ferry to Setubal, which is a fun thing to do for an evening in Setubal. Also walking distance from a really lovely beach. There is limited parking unless you choose to park underground at 9€ a day, we went in May and the only time we couldn't park in the car park was at the weekend. The troia mariner is again about 200mtrs, it has a few bars and restaurants, some of which hadn't as yet opened for the summer, good views out over the bay. Some of the other buildings in Troia are somewhat stark ie the conference centre and casino so it is slightly unusual architecturally but otherwise a great location.
