Gaia Hotel & Reserve- Adults Only

The staff were fantastic and made you feel like a VIP the whole time! Rooms were very clean and had proper storage for clothes. They offer a complimentary tour of their reserve which is helping to reintroduce macaws back into Costa Rica. Clarence was our guide for this, and he was great! Spa massages were well worth splashing out on and there’s a very fun little 24/7 golf cart service to get you to the front gates up/down a steep hill.

Overpriced, overrated, bad quality, many upcharges. The property is nice, but they claim to be a 5* stay which is more like a 3 * stay except for the price. Literally $30 drinks at the pool which wasn't actually open most of the time. The macaw tour had basically no macaws just a hike through the bush. Upcharge on everything but not really anything worth it. Restaurant very mediocre but quite expensive. Whole area very touristy expensive and not worth it but this hotel was the worst

We spent four nights at Gaia Hotel and Reserve in March 2026 and were extremely pleased with our stay. We stayed in a signature loft suite, which was extremely comfortable for me, my wife and our adult daughter. The service at the resort was outstanding - every staff member was extremely friendly and provided an outstanding level of service. I was concerned about using a golf cart to go from the parking area to the hotel but this was unfounded - transportation was available whenever we needed it. We had several early mornings where we left before breakfast was served. This was no problem as our concierge was able to arrange a to-go breakfast for us that was delivered to our room at the exact time promised each and every time. Our personal concierge (Edson) was outstanding - he checked on us via text throughout the stay to ensure that we had everything we needed. We would not hesitate to stay at Gaia again if our travels bring us back to Quepos/Manuel Antonio.

Highly recommend Gaia. The service was amazing and they took care of every detail. You get a concierge to help schedule and reserve anything you need The restaurant is excellent, especially the sushi. It is also very convenient. The servers, especially Abraham, Riccardo, Jack, Danny, and Tony were all exceptional. They made our stay very welcoming. The grounds are amazing and you see animals daily, including macaws, toucans, sloths, iguanas, and monkeys. There are also numerous other birds that you see from the restaurant and around the grounds. The spa is excellent, and the massage by Astrid was very relaxing. Sunset in the pool with a pina colada in hand was a highlight. Although not walking distance to beach (none of the hotels/ resorts are), there is a convenient shuttle and they help reserve chairs and umbrellas for a small fee you pay directly to the guys on the beach. They keep an eye on your stuff and bring you menus to order food. We can’t wait to come back!.

Stayed a couple of nights at Hotel Gaia and enjoyed it. We were in Room 222. The room had a lovely sitting room, bedroom with lots of storage, a balcony and a spacious, well-stocked bathroom. In addition, it had a private terrace from where we watched a variety of birds early mornings. It also provided great sunset views. The sunset view from the restaurant is spectacular. The restaurant was served good vegetarian food for vegetarians, and mouth-watering desserts. Smiling and courteous staff made for a great hotel experience. When we left for the long drive back to San Jose, we were given a small bag of cookies and chocolate for the journey. The only small area for improvement would be that the guide to the MA Park and the driver of the shuttle that takes guests to the Manuel Antonio Park co-ordinate timings, and be a bit flexible for the guest pick-up so that guests don’t end up waiting for long periods in the sun after visiting the Park. As the shuttle had just left, and there wasn’t one for the next 50mins, we took an Uber back to the hotel. It was a great finish to our holiday to see a couple of crimson macaws at the hotel itself.

5 star luxury stay. Fabulous views. Staff were fantastic - security, drivers, concierge, reception, waiters, housekeeping. All were helpful, friendly and made our stay perfect. Worth every penny.

Sehr sauber und komfortabel, aufmerksames und sehr hilfsbereites Personal . Schnelle Hilfe und unkomplizierte Kommunikation mit unserer Concierge, Johansy Castro, ein stets pünktlicher und aufmerksamer Shuttle Fahrer, Walter, ein sehr gutes Restaurant mit tollem Service (Daniel) und einer sehr abwechslungsreichen Speisekarte (Frühstück, Mittag- und Abendessen). Unmittelbar am Nationalpark Manuel Antonio, sehr gute Erreichbarkeit mit dem Hotel Shuttle und auch Uber/Taxi.

Stunning views of the sea, mountains and sunset, comfortable, clean and spacious rooms and friendly staff who couldn’t do enough for you. The choice of toiletries, super helpful concierge (shoutout to Edson), shuttle bus into town and macaw tour around the reserve were an excellent touch - adding to the 5-star experience.

The food could be better but the choice is excellent and portions are generous.
