"Paradise Found"

10.0

My wife and I enjoyed 4 days at this remarkably immaculate and eloquent resort. We had a room overlooking the infinity pool and the view was great. We enjoyed pampered dinners followed by evening swims in the pool. At times we were the only ones in attendance in the dining room, bar or pool, but there was always someone there to attend to our needs. This is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the attention. On one day we arranged for a country side tour. We had our own car, driver and tour guide. It was a very enjoyable day with visits to the chocolate hills complex, butterfly garden, tarsier sanctuary and a luncheon cruise on the Lobac river. If you are going to Bohol this is the perfect place to stay Stayed January 2013, traveled as a couple

"Wow - what a nice Hotel"

10.0

I was a little worried about this hotel when I first booked it as the web-site was sub-par - without much good information about the resort a few good pictures. However, let me say that this was quite a nice surprise. The resort is absolutely first rate. The rooms are excellent. The dining and dining area is excellent at a very reasonable price. The pool is the best with a stunning view. Being from the US and being used to 4 to 5 star hotels in Europe and the US, I highly recommend this hotel. The owner in a very cordial German gentleman who has created a gem of a retirement settlement. Great value! I rate this hotel on par with Shangri La hotels - at a fraction of the price.

"Peacock Garden - Bohol"

10.0

If you're ready to be treated like ROYALTY, the Peacock Garden is for you. The grounds, accommodations & staff transport you to your own piece of paradise. Get lost in the infinity pool or linger at the spa. Wake to a beautiful view of the sea then go out to your private balcony to listen to the birds. IT'S ABSOLUTELY HEAVENLY!!! To be a guest here is a privilege. You won't want to leave!!!

"Great facilities, but remote and not seaside"

6.0

The hotel facilities were very nice, including a great "infinity" pool with an amazing view of the ocean. Unfortunately, aside from the pool, however, there wasn't much to do at the hotel. The bar/club/activity area were not impressive. There was only one restaurant at the hotel, with both inside and outside dining, but with a very limited menu - a lot of heavy, German fare. Frankly, I was sick of the limited menu selection after 3 days. Also, the hotel is not located close to the beachfront. The hotel is approximately a 20 minute drive to the main city center and a 40 minute drive to the beach. As the hotel does not provide free transportation to either, you will need to hire a car.

"Nice surprise in Bohol"

10.0

The Peacock Garden is a nice finding in the middle Bohol Island. The facilities and service are outstanding. People are friendly and helpful, price is reasonable and the kitchen is -really- formidable. The last thing you might expect to find in southern Philippines is a German themed, German quality and German service resort....well, that's what you get here. If anything, the location-in the mountain and not in the beach- is the only con, however, getting on a cab and getting to a nice beach will take you 20 minutes and the views from the resort are breath taking.

We have enjoyed our 3-days stay at the Peacock Garden very much, especially because of 1) the excellent service given by the plentifull staff, who were always of assistance doing their jobs with big smiles, but without being intrusive 2) the facilties and equipment were ( or had the appearance of being) brand new and in tip-top shape 3) the place was beautifull, especiall for nature-lovers, and without any noise. To be recommended for anyone, who wants to relax and can do without a beach at his/her doorstep. Small tips for improvement: 1) the (free) breakfast could be spiced up with croissants/sweet breadrolls or similar. 2) For me personally it would have been easier if the hotel would accept Amex cards, in addition to Master and Visa.

"luxury in Bohol"

10.0

Wonderful small new hotel with army of attentive service and security staff. Setting on hill above local villages in jungle, overlooking the sea, a few miles from airport. Fabulous infinity pool overlooking the jungle and out to sea. Delicious menus with very strong germanic style.Hotel bristling with interesting and possibly rare pre -war German memorabilia.Quite a surprising find ! Not cheap by Philippine standards but worth it.Watch taxi fares Only slight downsides 1) my daughter booking independently to join us and had been given the impression that only highest priced room charged for 2 people was possibly available which quite clearly was not the case 2) tiny packed breakfast bearing no resemblance to the banquet that would have awaited us in the dining room had our ferry not left so early 3) suggest grab rail in walk in shower (I think this should be a standard fitting) - all existing fittings were of very high standard
