Hotel Aura del Mar

I booked a trip to Zihuatanejo with my two daughters (5 and 8 years old) at the very last minute (5 days prior) after learning their school-run spring break camp was already full (duh), so I really knew very little going in and had no expectations - but I could not have been happier with where we landed. This was SUCH a wonderful hotel in such a fantastic location, it crossed all the boxes for what we were looking for in a trip and then some! The hotel itself was absolutely beautiful, right on the beach with an awesome pool (built-in slide, over-the-water hammocks, in-pool lounge chairs, etc)- the staff were all incredibly lovely and accommodating, helping us with everything from booking excursions (turtle hatching is highly encouraged!), recommending family-friendly dinner spots, finding us another similar (arguably even better?) room to move into so we could extend our stay several days, and even allowing us a place to store our luggage and have a last-minute shower on our final day there, we honestly couldn't have asked for more. My kids were especially enamored with the talking parrots (we, too, have a parrot) as well as discovering the adorable little animal/nature scenes the housekeeping staff created on the beds using flower petals and towels whenever they tidied -it was just the sweetest! I've already encouraged friends to book with them and look forward to returning, myself, again, and again, and again....thank you aura del mar!

Beds were excellent! If you want to be on the beach and easy walk to town this is it!

This is a really great property. We had a roomy suite with a sitting area, a large bathroom, and a very cute balcony with a jacuzzi tub and loungers. The hotel has great staff and is so close to the downtown/"Centro" area - we were able to walk to many restaurants and more. The beach was warm FYI! Pool area was great. Yes, there are MANY stairs. Something to consider. The hotel is also on top of a hill so there is a steep climb coming from the centro.

The service was fantastic ,beautiful views/location, good margaritas/food. Loved the very artistic, Mexican style. Very clean!

My only complaint is no hot water and very little water pressure in showers.

The water in shower could have been hotter.
