The stay was nice and really close to the wonderful garden. Parking is NOT easy and there are extra taxes because its a 'spa' town.

"Decent hotel for an overnight"

6.0

We were staying here just one night on our way from Austria to the Zugspitze. We had a wonderful time generally in Bad Reichenhall thanks to the RupertusTherme spa and a lovely restaurant in the spa. This hotel was acceptable - the rooms were a decent size and mainly well maintained though the hall smelled very mouldy. The little pool was a godsend, breakfast was decent. The staff were helpful, if not especially friendly.

It was a a great spot to stay after a long day. The staff were extremely helpful, even offered to help unload our car to our room. The room was very nice. The breakfast was good too!

"Unsympathetic hotel"

2.0

We happily booked this hotel but unfortunately my husband's bad back precluded our drive to this destination. This hotel charged us the full price for cancellation although it's peak season, the booking is four days away, the hotel is full and they will certainly let the room in our absence. Cancellation on booking.com where we booked this hotel is at the discretion of the hotel itself. The Galerie charged the full cancellation price.

"OK place, not what anyone would call a 4-star hotel"

6.0

This place had a comfy bed, that's important, but it lacked in areas that leave me wondering why this is called a 4-star hotel? Pluses: Comfortable bed and pillows, quiet location Minuses: No A/C or even a fan, very basic breakfast, no bathroom amenities, limited parking, they messes-up my soft-boiled eggs two days in a row No easy access for handicapped folks or people with a stroller. You have to use stairs to get to the elevator?

"Hotel only for those who speak German"

8.0

ThIs is a lovely town full of victorian area houses. Hotel was comfortable but everything was only in German: menus, sinage, staff. Only 1 person spoke any English. All guests were German. This was a problem for us as my husband doesn't speak or understand German and I speak only a little German. We would not go there again as we felt very " out of place".

"What a great hotel"

10.0

We booked this place en route to Slovenia, somewhere in Germany on the autobahn. We thought we would arrive about 8pm, but traffic and comfort stops along the way got us there at 11pm. The web site stated that check in closed at 10pm... Panicking, we tried to phone the hotel, of which a very stern German man who was trying so hard to understand our English, got the gist of our situation. After a couple of navigation malfunctions we arrived. And they stayed up. I couldn't believe it. After 750 miles driving, they waited. It turned out they didn't even have a reservation for us. They just gave us the key, took our passports and ushered us to bed. When we woke up, the reservation from Expedia.com didn't arrive until after 11pm as an email to the hotel. Food for though when book on the hoof, it doesn't turn up in the hosts email for a few hours. So make sure you book well in advance to arriving at your destination. The hotel was immaculate, fresh, modern and tastefully furnished. The biggest hotel bathroom ever. The shower could have accommodated both my wife and I...but alas, even I was to tired to expect that! Breakfast was literally the breakfast of champions. Everything you would want in a breakfast wast there. On the whole, if your anywhere near Bad Reichenhall, you would be bonkers to overlook this hotel. Has a great sense of charm, and a very needed homely feel to it. Thank you very much to the hosts.

"Great location for a winter visit"

8.0

The hotel is conveniently located near the train station. It's also a short walk into the old town, to see the Christmas market and shops. The hotel rooms are comfortable. The feather comforters and pillows are amazing. We had a room with a small balcony, which was a nice extra, although we didn't use it much due to the colder weather. The breakfast was tasty. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. A nice place to stay.
