Hotel Residence - Amalfi

Great location and scenery

HR residence is at a very convenient location, close to the duomo and easy access to the Luna Russo parking garage (€40/day). It’s also next to the ferry and bus stations, and close to the beach. Our room had partial sea view through the balcony. It was nothing to write home about unless you have never seen the ocean. But the Mountain View and the villas in Ravello are astonishing. It’s also an easy 30 min drive. From Positano. We visited in late October so everything is quieter and enjoyable. Definitely would love to come back again, and the Ristorante Da Maria is our favorite restaurant 2 minutes away from the hotel.

Beautiful facility in the heart of Amalfi town. Classic decor, attentive staff. The breakfast was superb, the balcony of restaurant overlooks the beach, stunning view. There is no doubt I would return to this hotel if I am ever back in Amalfi.

Location is good

The hotel is perfectly situated directly across from the public beach, has amazing staff and very convenient location wise to access the ferry to Capri and other islands. Our room had a huge balcony so we could enjoy the view. Great breakfast and delicious dinner at Sensi. I can't say enough great things about the staff at this hotel. Great location also if you are handicapped or don't like climbing stairs. Staff was super helpful with dinner reservations and helping us choose restaurants. I'd say 95% of people in Amalfi coast wore gym shoes both during the day and at dinner. A lot of women wore sun dresses, skirts both long and short. Instagrammers always in white? lol. Our room was big enough and had a nice bathroom. We had a view in front of the Mediterranean and the side balcony was really nice to enjoy coffee in the morning or cocktail before dinner. Great people watching on the boardwalk. You can't beat the price, location, service & convenience. We took the fast ferry as much as possible to avoid the roads that have a lot of traffic. Do a farm to table or cheese making class or walk the path of the lemons. It will get you out of the touristy high traffic areas. I was impressed with the restaurant choices. There are lots of reasonable but really good restaurants within walking distance to the hotel. We tried a bunch and all were good. Also do try the local bakery. The pastries are amazing. The ferry schedule was very confusing to most tourists. They don't make ongoing announcements, and you can be waiting and it won't show up. I would buy each ticket day of except maybe Capri. ( bring water) The boats are very sensitive to weather and don't go out at all if the winds are not blowing the right way. If budget allows buy a semi-private boat for Capri. Great hotel, I would stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking to stay on the Amalfi Coast.

Excellent Location. The rooms are very spacious and clean. The breakfast area has a beautiful view. The staff are very polite and professional. The whole premises are very well maintained. I would consider it value for money. The beach is right across the street and you can be provided with beach towels at the reception. Saint Andreas cathedral is just behind it.

Honestly, I did a lot of research about where to stay on my one night in Amalfi. I ultimately decided to choose convenience over extra amenities like a pool or view of the ocean. I couldn't be happier with my choice. This hotel is SO conveniently located to the city center where you can explore everything Amalfi has to offer and you are an arms reach to the public buses and the ferries for when it's time to change locations. The rooms are very large and we had a balcony with a perfect view of the church. My husband and I stumbled upon a GEM, Luisa Gastronomia Artigianale, we got a bottle of wine and apperativo followed by a sandwich for dinner and we even went back the next day for lunch. Best sandwiches we've ever had in our lives. A MUST try when staying at this hotel!
