Jonathan Edwards Motel

Renovated but our room was filthy. Smelly. Roaches running outside . Headboard , walls and furniture drawers all dirty.

The manager was very helpful, getting in touch before we arrived with how to access the room (contactless) and for answering questions once we got there. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. It's in a good location to get to places in the Mid-Cape, parking right outside the door.

Location, character (uniqueness) of the room, very quiet, ability to open windows, comfortable beds , neat refrigerator/freezer and microwave, decent shower

No cups/glasses in the room-when we asked for some were told they don’t usually provide them but he gave us 2 paper cups. What motel doesn’t have cups or glasses in the room? Also No bedside stands/lights. These touches that would actually make the stay more comfortable should be a priority over the fake “fireplace” and scenic screens on the TV.

Manor was very nice but I did not feel safe coming into the hotel at night

cleanliness, string smoke odor, butt receptacles in clay plant pots all over porch directly outside “non- smoking” room, dirty windowsills, prior guest’s bath sponge left in shower, filthy throw rug, staff summoned re odor- he denied smelling smoke— said it was an air freshener and removed it from wall ( why did the room need that air freshener if it had no odor) which was covered with brown dirt on top of the plug in, but my asthma started to kick in and my husband got itchy/burning eyes and headache after tried to take a pre-wedding nap, so we left within 3 hours. Management offered us another room but from general conditions, staff’s denial of the odor, and our symptoms, we did not have confidence that another room in same motel would be different. Reported complaint and need to leave for my health to booking.com Customer service, who dealt with motel mgmt but when the mgmt continued to refuse to refund our 2 day stay when we had to leave after 3 hours, only insisting that the only solution was another room, booking.com said there was nothing else that they could do, and we were on our own to deal with the motel mgmt. Sent complaint re this process back to booking.com customer service and email to the CEO- awaiting word now, but if no refund, we will NOT USE BOOKING.COM EVER AGAIN.

The manager Christian, made our stay special, as he was delightful and made us feel right at home. The motel is a bit dated, but the AC worked perfectly on sleep adjustment and the room was very quiet. Large fridge with good freezer in room. Bottled Water and cookies were provided.

Plastic padding under the bottom sheet was a bit disturbing as it made crinkly noise when I turned over. No coffee on premises but donut cafe was just up the road.

In the description it says that the pool is temporary closed. NOTE: It is not closed and it is very clean. It was great relaxing by the pool after a day at the beach. The staff is wonderful. The owner is super friendly and helpful . The beds were cozy, the rooms were clean. Exceptional, especially for the cost. Very close to beaches. I will definitely be back! Super dog friendly which was an added bonus because we don't travel without our boy!
