Compass House Boutique Hotel - Adults Only

A wonderful boutique hotel where you're treated like royalty! We loved our honeymoon stay at Compass House. From the moment you arrive, they take good care of you - never over-bearing, but always attentive and kind. The hotel is small, so you're one of only a dozen or so guests, which is relaxing and intimate but totally on your terms as a guest, and the staff know who you are and what you need at all times. We stayed in Room 8 - just down below the pool area, which is tucked away amongst gorgeous-smelling Jasmine plants, and nice and quiet (although you can't see the sea view as clearly, the privacy is worth it). We particularly loved: The attentive staff who were fun, charming, informative and caring throughout our stay The breakfast, which is delicious and has a little bit of whatever you need The views of the sea from the pool and breakfast terrace The pool area is lovely, peaceful and calming The little extras like honesty-policy drinks whenever you need, snacks and filtered water on tap The gorgeous poolside garden surrounded by Jasmine The building feels safe and secure, like a peaceful home in Cape Town The location is great - the City Centre & Waterfront are 10-15 mins taxi away, Camps Bay is 5-10 mins down the road, and you can easily head down to the Peninsula without having to go through the city centre. All-in-all, highly recommended!

The only minor issue was that the room 8 front door had a large gap under it, which allowed leaves to blow into the room during a particularly windy night. But this is hardly a big issue and we popped a towel down to stop it! :)

Compass House is run by people who really understand 5-star comfort for their clients. The place is perfectly located in bantry Bay, with a beautiful sea view. It is absolutely serene; even the selected music adds to the 'zen' kind of atmosphere. The whole 'house', the staff's politeness and service reminded me of the top boutique hotels in Switzerland or Italy, excellent! Rooms like luxury cabanas, out of a 60s Hollywood movie but with the most modern facilities. Big inviting pool with super view of the ocean. Breakfast: Both selections offered and service immaculate. Ready to stay there again, when in Cape Town. Would recommend it unconditionally, to the connoisseurs of luxury small hotels.

There is no gym at the moment. However, one is being created, as I was informed, and will be ready early next year. Not much else to complain about.

Die Lage und die Ausstattung war sehr gut

Wir hatten gleich zu Anfang unseres Urlaubs um ein Late checkout gebeten. Keine Reaktion, obwohl dies ausdrücklich gegen Aufpreis angeboten wurde. 2 Tage vor Abreise auf Nachfrage die Auskunft, dass wahrscheinlich nicht das gleiche Zimmer angeboten wird, aber man wird den Umzug organisieren. Offiziell checkout war 11 Uhr. 9:45 Uhr erhielten wir die Nachricht, dass kein Zimmer frei ist und wir in ca. 1h das Zimmer verlassen müssen. Man bot uns einen Lagerraum für unser Gepäck an. Dieser war dann ein Platz hinter der Couch des Eingangsbereiches!!! Wir hatten ein Kleid meiner Frau im Zimmer vergessen. Dieses war dann leider nicht auffindbar und wir sollten nochmals in unserem Koffer nachschauen. Nach anfänglichen guten Erfahrungen verbleibt bei uns ein fader Nachgeschmack. Schade eigentlich…

Das Hotel ist wunderschön gelegen.Reichhaltiges Frühstück. Sehr freundliches Personal und zuvorkommender hilfsbereiter Manager.

Construction right next door, huge crane ruining the view, there is only a hand shower without a proper holder.

Le confort, le fait qu'il s'agisse d'un établissement avec peu de chambres donc peu de clients et pas d'enfants donc calme ! Le personnel est très courtois et vraiment sympathique. Le petit déjeuner est excellent ! La vue mer est imprenable, l'espace piscine est vraiment très agréable. Un endroit idéal pour se reposer.
