Location was amazing. Beautiful beach and cool building.

The hotel is in need of a deep cleaning. And there was no sun beds or umbrellas, or even a cafe by the beach, which is a shame. When you book a hotel in the middle of nowhere you kind of expect to be able to get the things you want or need from the hotel. Instead of hanging out by the beach right outside of the hotel we went to a different beach where we could buy drinks and ice cream.

"Great hotel with amazing staff by a beautiful ocean."

The location was perfect, beach front on a beautiful, clean beach. It was easy to get to by bus or hotel shuttle from Shimoda Station. It is an older property but very clean with a beautiful view from each room. The rooms are also larger than usual for Japan. The public onsen overlooking the ocean was amazing too. When we checked in, the toilet in our room smelled so the staff came up and personally helped us to move to another one right away. We have breakfast and dinner there twice. It was very good. If I can say the best thing about this hotel is the wonderful hospitality of the staff. I would definitely stay here again.
