Ashlea Guest House

Eigen parkeerplaats, het was er rustig (parkeerplaats stond vol maar je hoorde anderen in het huis niet), badkamer was ruim, eigenaren vriendelijk en behulpzaam, het centrum was lopend te doen. Banbury heeft een treinstation, makkelijk vanaf het guest house te bereiken. Met 17 minuten stap je uit in Oxford en dat was een fantastisch mooie stad om te bezoeken.

Het tweepersoonsbed was smal en kort, een twijfelaar, voor 2 langere mensen voor 3 nachten niet ideaal. Een klein koelkastje op de kamer was fijn geweest. Ook omdat je geen bar hebt zoals in een hotel, had je dan zelf wat koel kunnen houden.

Exceptionally clean room. Very friendly host. Excellent off-road parking. Quiet room, no noise from neighbours. Ideal location for walking into town.

Purely my own personal preference, the bed/pillows a little hard for me so I hardly slept ... but that is only my preference and may well be very welcome for other guests. I suspect it may have been a new bed. Other than that, it was lovely having such a clean room.

The room was spacious and extremely clean. The bed was very comfortable and the hosts were very helpful catering for our needs. Strongly advise using this guest house for any person looking to stay in the area.

A very pleasant greeting from the hosts on our arrival. Immediate appreciation of the excellent condition of the property. Smart wallpaper, paintwork fresh, everything clean and tidy. Breakfast was a delight, everything you could possibly want, top quality and delivered with a smile. 😊

A shelf or two in the bathroom and maybe change the small wardrobe for a hanging rail and two extra shelves.

All staff were friendly and helpful without being intrusive. We really appreciated the ample parking and clear signage. Cooked breakfast was excellent. Mushroom omelette was freshly made with real mushrooms, not tinned. Room was quiet and the bed large and comfortable. Shower worked well.

Our only negative was the tea at breakfast which we found to be rather bitter although we think the local water may have been partly to blame for this.

The perfect place for an overnight stay in Banbury. It's just a 10 minute walk away from the famous Banbury Cross. The owners were welcoming and the room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious the next morning.

The bathroom was a bit smaller than usual but the shower was fine and the towels were great.

Offered a full English breakfast the next morning.

The room smelled like paint and there was a horrid smell coming from the sink in the en-suite. Some male guests had come in at 4am the night before and were very loud and woke us up. Then we had to deal with them at breakfast the next morning. The room was cold. Even though it was summer, it had been cold and raining a lot and there was no option to heat the room.

The property is in a good location, less than a 10 minute walk into the centre of town. Very welcoming hosts, the breakfast was very good (especially the sausages!) Just a couple of things would make it even better… The pillows are very flat & not very comfortable, better quality pillows would make all the difference. The room & bathroom were very clean other than the blind on the window was very dusty & the ties were a little knotted making it difficult to lift up & down. Other than those 2 minor things we had a lovely stay & would definitely stay again (along with my own pillow but that’s just a preference for me).
