Hilton Garden Inn Troy

The public spaces were very pleasant. The room relatively inviting. Comfortable bed. Huge pillows. Room temperature was comfortable.

NO HOT WATER !! I was on the 4th floor. Turning the bath and sink faucets on for five-plus minutes only brought the hot water up to luke warm in the evening and in the morning the water stayed cold. So no nice shower after a 6 hour car ride, and no comfortable morning shave. The concierge removed the charge for breakfast (which should have been complimentary anyway) but hardly sufficient. Fortunately I was only staying one night. I would have relocated if I had to spend a second night in town.

Would give this hotel zero stars if possible. Disgusting room at check-in with empty pizza boxes and trash, completely uncleaned. And I had paid for a suite that was 800/3 nights. Absolutely disgusting. They transferred me to second room, and then this second room *also* was not clean, with stains on the towels and dirty floors. Two different front desk staff didn't seem to care and wouldn't discount me or refund in any way.

Staff were generally helpful. Restaurant was good

There was a Hockey event / party on Saturday and Sunday. This meant that there were multiple parties of boys being allowed to play hockey in hallways, elevator banks and rooms on the sixth floor all Saturday evening from 5.00pm until 10.00pm and again from 8.30am on Sunday morning until check- out. A hotel is a hotel, NOT a playground
