Everything is good except that the hotel has stopped providing bathroom scales to enable us to check our body weight.

The lobby was very grand, including the lift lobbies, dining area, gym and pool were nice too. Housekeeping was good and done promptly. Nearest amenity was only a convenience store near the school, around 5 mins walk, but it is enough and operates till 12:30am.

Looking at the design of the lobbies and the facilities, i thought the room itself would be fantastic too. However, the design of the rooms and appliances used were old-fashioned and not as modern as the hotel looks. Also, the toilet seat-pan was not heated and it was quite a shock everytime we used the toilet as we went during winter. However, a major problem was the electricity cut-off during the last day of our stay, where we were informed on the day itself that the whole building’s electricity will be cut off from 1-5am due to emergency drills, where the lights went out completely at 1:05am, no heater, no aircon, no ventilation. We could not shower or brush our teeth, and had to go to sleep immediately while relying on our phone’s torchlight. It was difficult to sleep and we woke up in the middle of the night several times due to the poor ventilation and heating. To make things worse, we had to catch a flight the next morning. This experience was a shock to my family as we didnt expect this to happen in a four-star hotel, especially with the late notice and no form of compensation.

One day it used to be a five star hotel but not today.
