Poppys On The Lagoon

Very happy with our clean beach house, feet in the lagoon. Friendly staff (not quite so impressed by the management, not so friendly). Crystal-clear pools set in lush, tropical and well kept gardens. More than reasonable food, appreciated that most of it was local food and flavour.

Room was good, walls are thin so expect to hear neighbours talking muffled. Also tiles on the floor make it loud when people above are walking around or drop something. Be sure to check your room bill at the end of the stay. We where charged more for things we had paid for by cash, and some things wherent taken off the bill for things we didnt end up doing ie a massage. Keep a record of everything you put on your room bill. Some of the service was slow, orders getting forgotten or full charge for cocktails even during cocktails even tho I ordered within the Happy hour prices. The staff where every friendly and helpful when organising tours, drivers and information. The massages are amazing and highly recommend getting one. Location was good = quick 10min walk into the main centre. As 2 females (mother and daughter) we where adviced from hotel staff not to walk back from town any later then 9 on a friday, saturday, or sunday due to the locals having a drink at the local bar around the corner from the hotel. Overall I will be staying in this hotel again it was a very satisfactory hotel.

Service was great, Breakfast needs a fair bit of an improvement, Happy hour cocktails are fantastic and reception are very helpful with everything.

We went there to enjoy a week of family holidays with our teenager daughter and we had an amazing time! The hotel is well located, just a walking distance from town. Everybody there is very friendly and everything worked as planned!

Guest pool used as community pool by locals is not right when you're paying $100/night.

The rooms are a little run down. Door knobs falling off.rundown bathroom. Noisy dogs barking through the night and NO AIR CON!! BUT staff were very nice and continental breakfast was pretty good

Poppy's was an excellent choice for a long (8 night) stay in Port Vila. It was perfectly situated away from the hustle and bustle of the main street, yet still an easy 10 or so minute walk away. With complimentary kayaks and snorkelling gear for use in the lagoon it was on. The staff were also extremely attentive and lovely, and always greeted you with a smile and asked about your day. The resort also thought of all the little details to make a stay enjoyable - reef shoes, pool towels, umbrellas for use etc. Would definitely stay here again :)

Great stay, friendly and helpful staff. This was a solo getaway for a long weekend. Poppy's is conveniently located within walking distance to the shops in Port Vila and handy for walking to the market. All the staff were friendly and helpful and the head and shoulders massage highly recommended to help de-stress!

The lagoon view rooms are a bit of a walk up stairs, so no good if you are of average health or fitness. Also the walls are paper thin, you can hear everything from other guests. Also of all the 3 pools, they are all small, but ok for a dip. Continental breakfast was nice, and also dinner was ok. But you do need to ask for a menu, it is not given to you, so you can have a cooked breakfast if you wish and also for dinner, its not just the blackboard that is available.

For an elderly couple it was too steep to enjoy the restaurant and return to the room in the rain or just walk around the resort
