Soft bed, but just not to personal preference.

Being that the price was so good I was expecting a dated and tired hotel. I was away with two friends and we were prepared for that and just looking forward to enjoying each other’s company and using the facilities. Arriving, it was such a pleasant environment. It had to feel of being fairly recently refurbished. Everything was neat and clean and the setting of the golf course is really lovely. The reception is large and plush and the ladies working there are incredibly friendly and helpful. Just really welcoming ladies who it’d be happy to have a cuppa and a natter with! The room we had was close to the reception in a courtyard style. It was incredibly spacious with three bed set up for us with crisp white linen. All the beds were comfy and there was a very spacious wet room style bathroom. The spa facilities are small, impeccably clean and modern. There’s a little pool, steam room and sauna plus a Jacuzzi. It’s not somewhere you would go for a very Zen spa day. It’s very much hotel facilities attached to a big gym. But it’s a nice addition to your stay. The breakfast was really good. In a really pleasant restaurant overlooking the golf course so a really nice experience. Clean and modern but with a little bit of cozy styling. There was a lovely buffet of continental bits to choose from and then cooked breakfast to order. The cooked breakfast was really delicious and stylishly done. We didn’t have time, but apparently there is lovely walks around the grounds. I really liked that there were a stack of welly boots in reception for people to borrow! I’m definitely hoping to return so maybe I will end up going for that walk.

There’s no fridge in the room, the standard tea, instant coffee and UHT milk. If people aren’t a fan of UHT milk, I always think herbal tea should be provided as an option. There was a really loud group outside our room until the early hours. This isn’t really the fault of the hotel, but I think reception should’ve come quiet them down first sake of the other guests. We tried the week before to book treatments and they were already fully booked so bear this in mind when you’re making a reservation and booked straight away. My cooked breakfast came out later than my friend’s and was cold but that was my only complaint about breakfast. The other thing is that the coffee is only from a machine so if you’re a coffee lover, be prepared for that. My machine flat white was pretty good though.
