From 1st January 2023, a tourist tax of RM 10 per room per night is applied to all foreign guests. This tax is not included in the room rate and must be paid upon check-in. Guests with a valid Malaysian Identity Card or valid permanent residents MY PR Card are exempted. Effective from 1 July 2022, please note that there will be a Local Government Fee of MYR 3 per room night imposed by the City Council of Penang. This payment is not included in the room rate and should be made upon check-in at Mercure Penang Beach. Please note that the property does not accept third party payment cards. Please present the same credit card used to guarantee your booking when checking in / making payment at the hotel. If you are making payment using another cardholder's credit card, kindly provide the following to the hotel prior to your arrival: 1) Authorization letter with cardholder's signature 2) Copy of the cardholder's card (front and back of card with cardholder's signature) Please note that hotel may contact the cardholder for verification purposes. For security purposes, credit cards use for Non-Refundable bookings must also be presented when checking in. 1. Ombak Restaurant Outdoor: Closed 18–29 Aug 2025 (Indoor remains open) 2.
