St. Regis Deer Valley

Amazing accommodations. Plenty of things to do in the surrounding area. Hiking trails right out the back of the report. Great restaurant choices. Cleanliness at every corner and a staff that was always at the ready to assist with anything your needed.

This should be a five out of five on everything. And while the service in the hotel was incredible, the guys on the door at the funicular entrance were the rudest, coldest, most unhelpful, least brand-representing people you could ever have work for this resort. They either need firing or re-training!

This is a ‘must do’ stop if you are visiting Deer Valley. We rode the funicular up to the hotel and enjoyed drinks & shareables on the patio. So nice!! Drinks were delicious as well as the food! We had the truffle fries, the charcuterie platter & shared two Caesar salads. Beautiful views, nice fire pit & heat lamps. Perfect afternoon! Next time we may stay for the night.

First time in Park City and I can't imagine staying anywhere else! Ada at the front desk stated she "was there to make people happy"! The room was lovely and we are ready to buy the bedding and pillows. The food at the pool and restaurant (although expensive) was delicious, especially the Caesar salad and omelets. The servers especially Justin were extremely friendly and eager to please. For warned, at the pool, there is a 20% pool service charge (in addition to the gratuity), which we found unreasonable. So the same two salads were $10 more at the pool than at the restaurant. Lobby decor was beautiful especially the chandelier, which was apparently designed by a Utah artist. Pool area is gorgeous, two hot tubs, and the staff brings bottled water in a champagne bucket without asking. Among the best amenities is the free shuttle service that takes you down to main street. We used it quite a bit going to dinner and all the drivers, especially John were great. Coffee in the lobby each morning was nice. Never a wait for an elevator. Next time back in Park City wouldn't consider anywhere else.

Let's start with the positive. The staff is excellent; they were all very friendly, polite, and helpful. The food is also pretty good. And, if you traveling with young children it's a great place to stay. If you are traveling as an adult couple, think twice, and probably pass. This hotel is truly geared toward families with young kids. It's not a great place for couples. Even though they have 2 pools with 2 hot tubs, none are for adults only. All 4 were filled with young kids every day of our 5 day visit. They say one hot tub is for adults only but this rule is not enforced. I give the hotel 4 stars, not 5, even if you are traveling with kids. To me, The Ritz Carlton Bachelor Gulch in Avon Colorado is a 5 star hotel when traveling with young kids. The St Regis is nice, but it's not The Ritz.

We recently had the opportunity to stay at the St. Regis and while the property itself is undeniably stunning, our experience was marred by a level of service that fell well short of the luxury standard one expects at St. Regis hotels. First, the positives: The hotel’s design and ambiance are exceptional. From the elegantly appointed rooms to the breathtaking views of the mountains/valley and meticulously maintained grounds. The food was consistently amazing- regardless of where we ate. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the staff. Despite the hotel's high-end reputation, and price tag (we paid $1100+ a night per room x5), the front desk staff (in particular B.D.) was consistently rude and inattentive. Upon arrival, we encountered a lack of warmth and professionalism at the front desk, which set the tone for the rest of our stay. Reasonable requests (for example to have extra water) were met with indifference, and there was a notable lack of effort to resolve issues or accommodate requests associated with traveling with family members that ranged in age from young children to 75+. The concierge seemed uninterested, was often not at the desk, and slow to respond. For a luxury establishment, such lapses in service are inexcusable. To try and smooth things over, they sent their hotel "ambassador' to talk to us- she informed us, before she said anything about the situation at hand, that this was her 'retirement job'- which is fine, except that she didn't offer anything to address the situation except platitudes. The restaurant service was consistently excellent and the waitstaff kind/efficient- which was very much appreciated! The St. Regis boasts a truly magnificent setting and beautiful accommodations, the poor attitude and lazy service of the staff significantly detract from the overall experience. We hope management takes note of these issues and addresses them.

Special shout out to Spencer, who works at the pool; he’s probably one of the hardest working and most personable guys I’ve ever met. The servers were fun, too, singing happy birthday. We had room service that was so personable- she even wrote a handwritten note. To top it off, private dining was teasing me about being sick and suggested I eat some sugar with my breakfast.
