Forsyth Park Inn

We loved our three night stay! My husband, son and I stayed in the Greene room. Such a charming room, and plenty of room for three adults. When we arrived, Dwayne was so helpful, helping us plan our stay and showing us on a map where our tours would start. His restaurant recommendations were also good! The Inn prepares hot and freshly plated breakfasts, and they were all delicious. We also enjoyed the happy hour with complimentary wine and snacks. They also put out a sweet treat every night, and the key lime cake was so good! The location is quiet and across from the beautiful Forsyth Park and the famous fountain. The Inn is about a ten minute walk to most of the walking tours and some restaurants. Most of the restaurants are closer to the river, about a 15 to 20 minute walk. We enjoyed the walking, there are many historic homes along the way. If you are not used to much walking, a free shuttle trolley runs from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. We took it one morning and did the entire loop. There isn't much to see heading south on Whitaker street, so I recommend walking across the park and catching the free shuttle on Drayton Street heading in the other direction. There is also a paid trolley tour, with hop on and hop off stops near the Inn. We did not do this trolley, but others staying in the Inn told us they enjoyed it. We loved Savannah and this Inn, and I plan to return with a couple of friends for a "girls weekend".

The location was perfect. Walking distance to so many things. Parks, restaurants, shops. The Inn itself was so charming. The staff very attentive and friendly. Weather was wonderfully cool, since we came from Florida. 😊

The breakfast was excellent. The workers were happy to help and happy to have us there. The room was excellent, the bed was large and comfortable. They kept the old fashioned charm while providing modern convenience.

Our wedding experience with the Forsyth Park Inn was absolutely perfect! From the moment we stepped in the door, everything was smooth and wonderful. Our room was beautiful, with a view of the park, and the staff was super helpful with taking our bags up. Gary gave us a tour of the inn, showing us the veranda and the parlor, where refreshments were served. Everyone was super accommodating of my wife’s dairy allergy too, with our daily breakfast, wedding cake, and chocolate covered strawberries!  Bobbie Jo, the inn’s wedding planner, was amazing! She is kind, professional, and had the entire day go without a hitch. The rehearsal the afternoon before was super informative and easy to follow. Even before we arrived at the Inn, Bobbie Jo made sure we had answers to all our questions, even ones we hadn’t thought to ask. The actual wedding day was everything I could have dreamed. Thanks to the list of vendors the Inn sent me, picking a hair & make-up artist and wedding photographer was a breeze. Our room was spacious enough for my whole family to have lunch and get ready. The Inn also did a great job in keeping my wife and I separated until the ceremony for the before pictures. The Inn is so beautiful, the ceremony and pictures are stunning! The garden courtyard was perfect, with the rose petal trail leading in. All of the details were taken care of for us, included in our package, such as the flowers, cake, Bobbie Jo herself, and the pastor marrying us. Even after the ceremony, when we returned to the inn after dinner, we had champagne, flutes, and chocolate covered strawberries delivered to our room. Every part of this experience truly helped create the wedding I’ve dream of my whole life and elevated it beyond anything I could have imagined! I highly recommend having your wedding at the Forsyth Park Inn; we cannot wait to stay there again! PS they’re also queer friendly.

The place is beautiful! It’s a great location, right in the DOT trolley line. Breakfast was delicious every day, and they are very accommodating to their guests tastes and dietary needs. Dwayne is a great host! I would definitely recommend staying there.

The Forsyth Park Inn is a real gem. Old southern charm, fantastic staff and one of the best locations in Savannah.
