"Overall a wonderful stay at a stunning grand hotel"

Stunning grand hotel in the perfect location to be near the White Mountains!

The shortage of serving staff was felt in each of the dining venues we visited. The staff that was there were working so hard, but can only work so fast to serve so many guests.

For 500$ per night it was pretty bad experience, first off my room wasn’t even ready until after the checkin time. Shuttle took forever when we wanted to go to Gondola. No one answers the phone at the front desk. Room was pretty dinged up, beds were old spring beds which went down as we sat or slept. Food wise, toast wasn’t toasted at all, even though it was included in the cost breakfast was pretty costly for just two toasts and two croissants it was 70$. All in all it was a pretty bad experience. Looks like if I book from Expedia they don’t prioritize checking you in before others.

The property is small and quaint. Rooms are very pleasant and our room had 2 queen beds so it was quite large. There is an elevator. There is dining and a small bar. My issue was pricing. A mixed drink was $14.00 and a steak was $72.00. Breakfast was good and was included in our room rate. Scenery was magnificent. Staff was helpful and friendly. This is our second visit and will certainly go again.

"Moderate- but I would not stay again"

Breakfast was great - free and a nice benefit. Location was beautiful

Property is well aged - renovated in 1986 and I don’t think the bedroom has been touched since. The A/C was not working- on inspection the filters were so dirty they stopped air flow. The bath/shower floor was so worn it was very slippery- a real safety concern with no grab bars. The bed mattress was old inner spring type - no support and a miserable sleep.
