The Bay Samui

The staff were amazing, very friendly. The facilities were clean and the location was amazing.

The family that runs this is outstanding they made us a couple of family dishes that were not on the menu. Food is amazing! The bay itself is gorgeous. It’s out of town a ways so no shopping. Very spacious rooms with decks, some have pools. It needs some grounds work,but we love our stay. You can take a cab into town. There is also a store across the street that does laundry. Loved it here. You won’t find that care at a big resort. Keep in mind it’s not the Ritz but you’re not paying Ritz prices. Has all you need.

the front desk person was not qualified to do her job. No taxi except to pier. cannot get taxi down town. rental of motorcycle or scooter requires them to keep passport. I will never ever let someone have my passport to keep for a week.

Despite a charming and dedicated team, this post-covid hotel is closer to a ghost resort than a former 4-star establishment. With half of the abandoned bungalows with their greenish private swimming pools, a dump beach and a deserted terrace restaurant, you will absolutely have to rent a scooter to find your leisure elsewhere..

The beach and pool were dirty and weren't maintained well. The private beach was a particular low point as it was full of rubbish. Would have loved to spend some time there but instead travelled to nearby, well maintained beaches. Really ruined the experience of staying at 'The Bay'. Being that we were there in January (high season) we would have expected that the place was ready for visitors but it felt unloved.

Overall I enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere of the resort. Special mention about the friendliness and assistance by Mr. Chalong at the reception desk.
