"Worst room ever"

2.0

Worst hotel ever. The bed was supposed to be a king size, but was actually really small for two people. Bedclothes smelled really bad, i think its because they didn't air the room for a few days. No gel or shampoo in the bathroom. We asked for some and the guy offered us a bar of soap. Minibar?? well, they put in our fridge a gallon of water. It was refilled because the bottle was originally containing juice, so not very trustable. The A\C was really noisy and old, and its impossible to sleep without it, the room becomes an oven in 30 minutes, so there's no good solution for that. For all these reasons, we left the hotel at 9 and didn't stay for breakfast, just wanted to get out of there as soon as possible. Very expensive for the service and facilities they offer. We wrier very disappointed because following the critics in hotels.com the place looked to be very nice but don't get fooled, its the worst hotel we've never been before.

"As advertised"

10.0

I picked this hotel for 2 reasons, price and ratings by other travelers. The price was GREAT for what they offered, and the ratings were as advertised. I have nothing but good things to say about Barefoot Beach Pad. The staff is small and basically ran by a family and they were more than just courteous and friendly, but genuine-ally concerned that all my needs were met and I was comfortable. The room itself was WONDERFUL.....over-looking the ocean. The food was good, the water pressure in the shower was excellent (big thing for me), and it was walking distance to nice restaurants. I'll be coming back. Thanks Hector.

"dirty, distant, do not stay!"

2.0

The bathroom wast dirty on each of my days stay, other peoples hair on the bathroom floor. The shower only had tepid warm water, no hot available. The bed had a plastic matress cover on it, the sheets on one of the two beds appeared far from fresh or even clean. The location of the hotel was far from even outer Cabarete and needed a $6 ride (200 local money) in each direction. Some taxi drivers would try to charge you an even higher price. I did walk along the beach one day, the tide was in and rough and i was knocked over, grabbing hold of the metal cages so i was not dragged into the sea. The breakfast, in with the hotel room, basic white bread and a tiny pot of jam and butter, and American coffee. In total, most unpleasant stay.
