Auberge de La Fontaine

It is located in a nice area just in front of La Fontaine park and a few minutes away from restaurants and pubs. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were very clean. We didn't take the breakfast option but it looked like they had good options. A good stay for a short period over all.

The building has no lift which we were already aware of as it is mentioned in the description, however the stairs are very narrow. It easy to take a bad step, especially when you have big luggages to carry up. The bathroom was a bit small for our likings and we would have preferred to have a handheld showerhead than just the one attached to the wall.

We love the location on the park, and that there are many restaurants , shops and cafés close by. It is only a moderate walk to Mount Royal. Our bed which was a king suite was incredibly comfortable.. The room is clean, plenty of towels and having a refrigerator and coffee maker was helpful. The staff was very helpful and available when needed. We were lucky to end up securing a parking spot behind the building. If that is not available, they offer you parking passes on the street. We stay here every time we come to Montreal and we’ve stayed in different areas. They all have their own character, but for us the plateau is good for us.

They do need an update to their shower situation. It functions well lots of hot water, but there is a lot of caulking that seems to be hiding cracks and deteriorating seals, and the shower curtain has a hard time staying in place and can cause leaking. The bathroom itself ,the sink and toilet and the floor are just fine.

Le canapé lit n'est pas du tout un vrai lit. Un adulte ne tient pas en longueur et le lit n'était pas fait du tout. Le fait de mentionner un chambre avec "3 couchages" est inadmissible.
