This was a great base for our stay in La Gomera. The location was good – well situated for trips up into the National Park and within easy reach of almost everywhere on the island. Located on a hillside, it has beautiful views across the valley to the rugged mountains. We stayed in a 1-bedroom suite just above the swimming pool. It was very comfortable, roomy, and had great views out all the windows. The balcony was great for sitting outside and enjoying the view and a drink. The fully equipped kitchen was suitable for preparing all your meals and there is a TV in the bedroom (which we didn’t actually use). The pool area was super nice, and super peaceful too, with no screaming kids! There was a friendly resident cat that made the rounds looking for wee snacks and pats. Parking is fairly easy, just right out in the street in front of the hotel. There is a great restaurant, also owned by the hotel, just 300m down the road. We ate there every night and never had a bad meal.

The place is quite old, so suffers from many of the things that affect old dwellings - some musty smells, a few insects (mainly ants) running around, and a fiddly entry door, but it was nothing major. The internet also wasn’t the best – it seemed to drop out for extended periods for unknown reasons. The coffee maker didn’t work after the first day and they only provided 2 coffee pods for 2 people for 3 days, which is grossly insufficient. Being an old building, it really needed cleaning every day, but during our whole stay, it wasn’t cleaned even once. Thus we had to suffer constantly wet and smelly towels and a build-up of dirt/grime.
