Vangelis Villas

We really loved everything about Vangelis Villas. Our beautiful, comfortable and immaculate apartment gave us the perfect base for our family holiday, and we felt really well looked after - although the apartments are technically self catering, towels, toilet rolls, etc are provided, housekeeping come in daily and there's breakfast/dinner and a bar available if you need it. A nice selection of essentials (milk, water, tea/coffee and fruit) was also waiting for us when we arrived. The view over the bay of Mirabello is absolutely stunning, and the children loved the pool and the garden. The location just 10 minutes drive from Agios Nikolaos meant that we didn't have far to go to eat out or buy anything we needed, and there's so much to do in the area - the semi-submersible trip from Agios Nikolaos harbour was a particular highlight for us, and it's only about an hour's drive to Lasithi Plateau and the incredible cave at Dikti. There's something to do every day if you want to, but otherwise the villas are a really lovely place to just relax and enjoy the sunshine. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Vangelis Villas.

My girlfriend and I spent 5 nights in Vangelis Villa and loved every minute: we would certainly recommend it. Very few things to add to previous reviews (which we read carefully before booking). The place is ideal if you want to get away from it all, therefore a car to get there and then go around (to surrounding beaches, restaurants, bank and supermarkets) is a must, according to our experience. There is no real beach at the resort: just access to the sea through a quite rocky pool of water or a metal ladder at the end of a tiny private pier - we used the latter and truly enjoyed our snorkeling there, not much to see to be honest, but no other people in sight and beautiful, clear water. The rooms are as per pictures: we found the furniture to be oldish and a bit noisy (squeaking doors and heavy chairs), and the walls to be definitely not sound proof: we were lucky to have very quite neighbors. The hair dryer was missing so we told Manolis who bought a brand new one for us the following day (we checked in on a Sunday evening): great customer service and a distinctive personal charm and politeness. The pool was amazing: clean water and pretty big size, with sun umbrellas and sun beds right beside; it is located a few dozen meters from the rooms, so there is no noise even when people are swimming there.

Direkt am Meer gelegen. Obwohl direkt unterhalb der Durchgangsstrasse, sehr ruhig. Schöne, gepflegte Anlage mit grosszügigen Appartements. Zur Ankunft hat es Früchte und eine Flasche Wein im Zimmer. Das Frühstück mit Meerblick ist reichlich und gut. Freundliche Besitzer, die auch mal ein Abendessen hinzaubern, obschon es eigentlich kein Restaurant ist.

Great hotel, with amazing views, facilities and staff. Wine, fruit, water, milk and orange juice in fridge on arrival was a nice surprise. Was a bit further out of town than we had hoped, so no nearby amenities. But if you don't want to be in the hustle and bustle of Ag Nik it's very peaceful (and still only a €10 taxi journey away).

Excellent. The only problematic issue is the abrupt entry into Vangelis parking. I would like more road signs about Vangelis especially when coming from east

The villas are about 10 mins drive from Ag Nic., near Amadoura beach which was lovely with a really good restaurant and friendly staff. The location is beautiful and the sea pool was invigorating- you could really swim lengths in it. The villa was clean and quite well appointed. The owner was on hand daily to help and was very relaxed and helpful. Wi fi was available. We loved the privacy and seclusion but you need a car. Some with young children might find the pool a bit cold. The bed was on the hard side - good for your back.Overall it was charming, slightly faded and not as straightforward to find as you would think but we would go back there. Excellent position for touring and I recommend the drive to Sitia - spectacular views. Our first trip to Crete and we loved it.

I had a two bedroom apartment in Vangelis Villas. It is a very nice apartment, typical Cretan style. It has everything needed for a comfortable stay. The location is perfect. The apartments are facing the sea. There is a small, but very nice beach right there; there is also a swimming pool. Maria, the owner/manager is very accommodating and caring. She will do anything possible and impossible to make one's stay in Vangelis Villas very comfortable. It is necessary to have a car since there is really nothing there within a waling distance. There are a few nice tavernas in Istron, and Aghios Nikolaos is only a few km away.
