Hotel San Michele Inn

We stayed here on our last night in Sicily before taking the Alibus back to the airport. We specifically chose this hotel because it is right next to an Alibus stop and we inexpensive. You definitely get what you pay for, so you should have realistic expectations. It's clearly not in the city center, but this was not a priority for us. If you want to go back and forth from the city center, this is not a good hotel for you (but we knew this when we made the reservation). The room itself was acceptable (very impressive high ceiling, AC worked well), but with some problems (shower need some work, toilet using a sort of pump system is less than efficient and requires several flushes, hair dryer that did not blow hot air). You should come here just to see the owner who is part of a dying breed: he speaks no English (but this is not a problem -- in Italy people speak Italian, so learn some basic phrases), he's probably 75 years old (and I'm not saying this as a bad thing), all his reservations are noted in an ancient tome by hand, instead of bifocals he just wears two pairs of glasses, and during check in, he insisted on showing us EVERYTHING (how to turn on the TV, the AC, how to unlock and lock the door...), but we both found this owner charming and authentic.

Éloigné du centre et accès métro fermé à 21h. Petit déjeuner bien médiocre et inexistant le matin du depart. 2 étages à monter avec les bagages.

We got there late at night for one nights stay and the hotel was fine for that purpose. An old man that doesn't speak english works in the reception and helps with breakfast in the morning. Despite the language barrier everything worked fine. Everything looks like the pictures. Bed was better than expected. The hotel is located on a very busy street so ear plugs are recommended. Close to restaurants and stores. There was no hot water in the shower. The ceiling was impressively high!

Good place situated 10 minutes from Catania Stazione Central and ALIBUS stop

Per essere un due stelle mi ha fatto un'ottima impressione. Pulito, bagno ampio, stanza pure, tutto in ordine, proprietario gentile e disponibile, wi-fi a disposizione, addirittura aria condizionata in camera. I punti a sfavore sono legati a dei comfort mancanti ma in un due stelle non mi aspetto ci sia tutto, per cui non li considero note di demerito. Di fatto è un appartamento privato (con corridoio stretto, al secondo piano di un condominio), le chiavi delle stanze sono quelle tipiche delle porte interne di un appartamento, nel palazzo non c'è l'ascensore e in camera manca il frigo. Se potete rinunciare a queste comodità, però, è un buon appoggio senz'altro. Per quanto mi riguarda, la pulizia e l'aria condizionata compensano il resto. Si trova in posizione comoda per raggiungere l'aeroporto in auto e, inoltre, in zona è facile trovare parcheggio.

Proprietario molto disponible a che a tarda ora. Nel complesso un buon servizio.

El servicio acorde con el precio. Pero para llegar al hotel hay que subir tres pisos (altos)¡¡ por escalera!!

Das Zimmer lag zur Hauptstraße, die Fenster ließen sich aber nicht ganz schließen. An Schlaf war natürlich nicht zu denken. Der alte Mann dort kann keine Fremdsprache, eine Kommunikation war fast nicht möglich. Er geht außerdem die ganze Nacht im Gang auf und ab, hört Radio etc. Das Bad ist mini, was OK wäre, Warmwasser nur sporadisch verfügbar, das ganze Zimmer ist mäßig sauber. Alles knackst, surrt oder tropft. Wir haben nur eine Nacht ausgehalten.
