Riad Eldar

Oesama was a fabulous host. It was his first time looking after the riad and he could not do enough for us. He helped us in every way possible. Having a small pool in the middle was fabulous. So too was the location.

The biggest criticism is having to pay cash. This means that you pay far more than the cost listed on Booking.com because of ATM and transfer fees. This is not fair. Be aware that the rooms are very small (think Paris then reduce it). There is no room for furniture and you have to have your suitcases on the floor which reduces the floor space even more! Also, be aware that the shower is in a high bath making it difficult to get in and out. We managed (and spread water all over the bathroom) but it could be difficult for some. These are only warnings . . . we enjoyed our stay.

When we originally booked to visit Marrakech we chose an apartment in the new city but after some though we decided to change our plans and booked Riad Eldar, this was the best decision we made. The riad's location is cracking, it is approximately 20 minutes to the main square and the souks are literally on your doorstep. It is only a 20 minute drive from the airport. The riad only has 5 room's and is hidden down a small alley which makes it completely peaceful and calm after a hot day in souks or out on tours. The size of our room was great for us, it is not fancy but very comfortable, we had a couple of chairs and table outside where we could sit. But there is a large rooftop terrace where you can sit and relax which we used on a couple of occasions. Breakfast is plentiful and tasty and consists of traditional Moroccan fayre with lots of tasty breads and dips. The staff are hugely friendly and Murad was on hand to assist us with any questions or to sort out any niggles that we had. We organised our transportation to and from the airport through the riad and it was excellent, no hassles or worries about getting taxis etc. This is a great place to stay and I would highly recommend this riad if you are visiting Marrakech.

The only thing I could criticise about this riad is the lack of a fridge in the room, to have the ability to have a cold drink after a hot day in the souks would have been great. Perhaps I am being a bit picky, I don't know.

We stayed here for 5 nights and we have had the best experience. Murad was amazing and he took really good care of us, making sure we had everything we needed at all times. The Riad itself is very peaceful and you can use the pool to cool down and rest when it’s too hot outside. The location is also really good, everything is no more than 15 minutes away by walk. I would really recommend this place.

Materassi troppo rigidi .

Foi a escolha acertada para a nossa curta estadia em Marrakesh. A localização é excelente e permitiu-nos explorar Marrakesh com facilidade, mantendo-se como um refúgio muito tranquilo. Os quartos são bem distribuídos e o pequeno-almoço é generoso. Um especial obrigado ao Sr. Murad, cujo atendimento foi impecável, sempre disponível e contactável para nos ajudar antes e durante a estadia, sempre com as melhores dicas. Recomendo vivamente pela hospitalidade e tranquilidade.

O único ponto a melhorar seria a estabilidade do Wi-Fi no quarto #1.
