Riad Itrane

The room was Ophelia on roof, quite small, appeared larger in photos. Beds were comfortable and cleaning was good. The bathroom was very dark, a small nightlight would be helpful. Coffee in the room would also be very helpful. The breakfast was nice. The bathroom smelled of sulfur or sewer, which became worse during our stay. I assumed it was because it was an older building. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.

Noted above Also, the hammam was disappointing, but not a reflection on the staff person who provided the massage and service. She did the best she could with the facility, but it was not really a hammam. I lived in Morocco 35 years ago and I am used to bathe public bath system. I understand people expect massages now and a different atmosphere, but I was very disappointed to be cold, I never thought that would happen. But it is understandable because there is no fire or very hot water cistern. It is just a faucet and a metal container. For the price paid, It should’ve been extremely comfortable and warm. The little tile bench was very small and uncomfortable. So it was neither comfortable or warm. The massage was nice, the hammam was unacceptable.

The staff at Riad Itrane are exceptional. Warm, attentive, kind, caring and generous. The Riad is beautiful and inviting. An intimate space that is comfortable and relaxed. Plenty of spaces to unwind.

The breakfast area was filled with honey bees which were concerning given my allergy to them. The entry hall floor should be cleaned which is surprising since the rest of the road is very clean.

Clean accomodation with friendly, helpful staff. Peaceful location close to Medina. Excellent breakfasts served in lovely setting.

Sehr leckeres Frühstück und äußerst guter Service. Das Mittagessen und Abendessen haben wir auch Mal probiert und es war super lecker, auch wenn es etwas teurer war. Es war das Geld aber wert, weil es qualitativ gut war und wir mit dem Roof-Top Flair nicht lange nach einem Lokal suchen mussten. Der Spa Bereich war ebenfalls gut, eine Hamman inkl. Massage kostete 55€ und ist sehr zu empfehlen. Es war auch kein Problem, auf unserer "eigenen" Dachterrasse mitgebrachte Snacks/kleinere Speisen zu essen. Kaffee und Tee waren gratis, womit wir nachmittags kleinere Snacks mit Kaffee genießen konnten. Allgemein wurden uns alle Speisen und Getränke zu unserer Terrasse gebracht, was sehr komfortabel war.

Impossibile trovare qualcosa che non piace

Considering that the price for our room was over €200 per night—which is relatively high for both Marrakech and even European standards—it’s fair to review this stay with higher expectations. On the positive side, the room was very clean and spacious, especially by Marrakech standards. The staff—like the guard, housekeeping, and kitchen team—were all very friendly and welcoming. The riad itself is large and beautiful, with great potential, and we appreciated receiving a city map with some helpful sightseeing suggestions. The airport transport was also well organized.

On the downside, there was no proper introduction to the hotel and its services upon arrival. We were not informed that dinner needs to be booked in the morning, nor were we given any information about Wi-Fi, including the password or even its availability. Apart from the airport pickup, other services were not explained. While the map was a nice touch, a simple information sheet with essential details such as rules, schedules, and Wi-Fi access would be very helpful. Another issue concerns hygiene. There are several cats on the property, and they tend to climb onto breakfast tables after guests leave, sometimes licking leftover food. While this may reflect local customs, it can feel uncomfortable for some guests. One cat even entered our room, and we had to remove it ourselves.
