Casa Luxemburg

Terrific little hotel in the most charming square in town! The staff was very attentive and available for all our questions and needs. The room itself was quite comfortable. We got upgraded to a small apartment suite (which I didn't mind at all). The layout of the place was a little odd since there was a side room with a little sofa shoved in it and not much room for anything else. Another curiosity was that although we were only on the 2nd floor and had to walk up 2 flights of stairs, my legs were exhausted when I reached the top, I still can't explain why that would be, but it happened every time. The location is exactly where you want to be in Sibiu. Parking is a little tricky (as is finding the place initially), but it's manageable. We could barely see the Liar's Bridge from our room. (It's right below, but at a sharp angle.) The squares are interconnected and be sure your camera has a fully charged battery. Every angle is photogenic!

This hotel has it all, Excellent location, right in the heart of most of the tourist attractions, restaurants all around, esplendid view from the rooms, attentive staff, good price... we are a couple with two children, 8 and 4, and had the apartment the hotel has attatched to it, it has two rooms, kitchenette and dining table, ample bath with bath tub, we only stayed one night so did not use all of the features, but if you plan on staying several days this is defenitely your best option. it even has a tourist information section downstairs and an excellent restaurant and live piano music bar. highly recommended.

The rooms were massive; more like a suite really. We had two bedrooms, an entrance way and a big bathroom, all for only $50 per night. The staff was very friendly, spoke great English and even helped us lug our bags up the cool spiral staircase as we stayed on the second floor. The hotel does have an annex where our friends stayed. Their room was just as lavish, we just weren't aware that they offered separate buildings. The location is great and central to the "old town" of Sibiu. Some of the chain hotels aren't within a short walk to any parts of the old town. Very satisfied and would definitely recommend.

I really enjoyed this hotel. The location is amazing...right off of the main square with tons of restaurants / bars within walking distance. We parked in the large parking lot directly in front of the hotel. The guy at reception said there was cheaper / free parking on the street but we didn't feel like moving the car or figuring it out. In the end, we didn't have to pay for parking because the machine was broken. But it would have ended up being $15 USD for about 18 hours of parking...expensive for Romanian standards but a bargain compared to DC standards. I really loved the charm of this hotel and would stay there again!

I made reservations late so on my second night in Sibiu had to stay across the square in Villa Astoria. Villa Astoria is lovely hotel but too much for what I needed. Casa Luxemburg is the perfect middle ground; not too much and not a threadbare hostel. Nice fluffy towels, clean everything. The room was small but just enough. Jetlag prevented my noticing that the reception desk doubles as an excellent tourist information office for the city and region.
