Got food poisoning from the restaurant. Paid for Family luxury suite and got the standard family room

We booked for the spa facility, only to be told that the spa had closed down over a year ago. The walls are also very thin and you can hear conversations through them

Bitte auf dem Weg Richtung Weimland nicht dran vorbeifahren. Ein Juwel. Unglaublich hilfsbereites, freundliches und immer gut gelauntes Personal. Die Zimmer sehr sauber, freundlich und hell gestaltet. Das Frühstücksbuffet sehr vielfältig und ausreichend, das Abendessen mit guter Auswahl. Alles in allem wirklich weiter zu empfehlen um einen guten Aufenthalt in der Karoo zu haben.

Very nice accommodation, we had a really big room with a bathtub. The guest house is roughly 5 min away from the main road, the road to the guest house is not the best but you can drive it with a normal car. A restaurant is near by the guesthouse.

The drive up to the hotel off of the main paved road requires driving along a poorly conditioned dirt road. That part had us wondering where we had booked, but after the road - literally everything was top rated! The Staff was very friendly and accommodating and they provide a great deal of extra touches which indicate this 4 start place to be better rated as a 5 star place! All of the rooms are nice and nicely appointed. They have an invertor which covers Wifi and some power to charge your phone during load shedding times. The food was unexpectedly excellent and the eating area also very lovely, quaint with good, attentive service. They also have a larger wine & beverage list than most places along the Garden Route of South Africa. Without so much as asking - their yard staff washed all of the vehicles in the morning. They literally did everything possible to ensure your stay was memorable and comfortable. The views are stunning and they have 2 of their own Ostriches for a private close-up viewing as well. It's incredibly inexpensive to stay there and would be fair at triple the price. So don't let the cost deter you. This is truly a gem and if in that area again we would absolutely stay in this place again. We are seasoned travelers and would rate this hotel higher than 5 stars if it was possible.
